The Most Dangerous Radiation Of All!!!!
by JeffB., 10:35 AM, 0 Comments
Forget about a few hundred microSieverts of radiation you might receive if you were onsite at the Fukushima Daiichi plants in Japan. That's less radiation than you would receive if you had to get a CAT Scan. The real danger is exposure to the Thousands of SieBSverts of collectivism, panic, cowardice and hysteria that the average American receives each year from television news organizations. This horrific radiation causes groupthink, self-doubt and depression. Saps motivation, encourages rage and infighting, and causes... [read more]

I watched in utter astonishment at what unfolded. Memo to readers who are liberals/democrats: this is what the Tea Party Movement is about and why you might at least heed what I am about to say. I'm confused. I heard today about this. So she has apparently gone deep underground. That being said, how you explain this as a Muslim? Was it because it was thought that Molly Norris was trying to be inflammatory? What if she was just trying to prove that we are 'tolerant".? One of the reasons I joined the Tea Party movement was because of a blogger/author called "Doctor Zero" Say what you want about Conservatives being dolts, uninformed, unlearned and unable to form solid apologies for our Ideology. Once in a while, a writer makes large issues easy to understand. With masterful reduction, "Doctor Zero" distills tenets to profound sentences dispensed throughout his prose. Republicans,The Tea Party and O'Donnell
by chekflow, 06:06 PM, 2 Comments
Much is being throw around the media and the blogosphere about the O'Donnell victory, her Tea Party affiliation and the "Establishment" of the Republican Party. Various pundits went back and forth and essentially either waxed political theories on causation or took a position and defended it. It seemed to me that there was no real consensus. Various "Tea-Party Candidates" like Marco Rubio and others proved the critics wrong as far as their "electability" . But let's face it: Rubio had... [read more]

by chekflow, 04:09 PM, 6 Comments
President Obama is on a tear. His last two speeches, (mostly to the audience of union members.....surprise!) the President assailed the Republican Party and the minority House leader, John Boehner. (Speeches here & here) He is also misleading his audience. Republicans have no ideas? Boehner, Cantor, Sessions and others have put forth many ideas and entire platforms to counter the Presidents proposals over the past 18 months and they were ignored. Why I joined the Tea Party Movement
by chekflow, 02:53 PM, 8 Comments
I have never before been involved in politics. I run a small business and thought myself to busy trying to make my run at " Capitalism 101". ClimateGate: A smoking gun, More Leaks, Long Term Temp Graphs
by JeffB., 09:31 AM, 6 Comments
The ClimateGate story won't go away quietly as warmists and their sycophants had hoped. Here are some new developments: Willis Eschenbach has uncovered a smoking gun with the way temperatures were adjusted in Australia. Temp records in Australia are based on a tiny number of stations that supposedly represent the entire continent. All the while sprinkled with the random, thoughtless venom that only the cover of anonymity can provide. Jim Miller does moderate his comment threads somewhat. Lamestream Media Bias? Fight Back.

One of the primary reasons why I tend to lean conservative is that there is such an overt media bias towards the left. Again and again throughout this campaign we have watched prominent media figureheads attack conservative candidates with tough questions and gotcha questions, while throwing up lobs for those candidates on the left. Seattle Times prints, then quickly replaces on-line story that demonstrates bias
by mjcostello, 10:11 AM, 0 Comments
UPDATE: Wow, guess what? The Seattle Times has now completely deleted their original story, "GOP rips Kerry over Iraq quote; he comes firing back," from their website. In another switch of their URL links, the original link is now pointing to a new story, "Kerry apologizes for "botched joke," says he meant no offense to troops." The archive link is now pointed to, "Some Democrats join GOP in calling for Kerry apology," and the original story printed in 220,000 papers... [read more]

Bias at the Seattle Times - Another example?
by mjcostello, 06:16 PM, 0 Comments
I don't normally read the Seattle Times, but when SoundPolitics highlighted a PI story in the post, "Dotzauer (Cantwell) divorce file to remained sealed until after the election", I wondered if that same AP story had appeared in the Times, and if it had, did the Times print it in its entirety as the PI did, or did the Times cut anything out that might be perceived to hurt Democrat Maria Cantwell. The article in the PI was titled, "Ex-wife:... [read more]

New Seattle Slogan
by SCarnahan, 04:18 PM, 4 Comments
It is official, Seattle has a new advertising slogan. Seattle's New Slogan The winning slogan Metronatural... This new non-word cost the city of Seattle $200,000 and it took them a year. I think that we could have done it here on Sound Politics Public Blogs for about ... free ... and we wouldn't have come up with a lame, idiotic, non-idea. This is why people hate letting politicians have access to tax money. They have a need to spend it,... [read more]

Bias at the Seattle Times - Even worse than first thought
by mjcostello, 06:00 PM, 2 Comments
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE Here is the response from Birdwell after I challenged him with the discovery that he had cut significant aspects out of the original AP story reporting Studds' death:: "I don't wish to correspond with you anymore, Mr. Costello. You have no idea what goes into our work. Stories are edited; stories are trimmed; stories are merged. I am not slanting news to harm Republicans, and it pisses me off to be accused of it. You don't know me,... [read more]

Alert Mayor Nickels, the Earth Moved, the Climate Changed
by jcmount, 03:40 PM, 7 Comments
Published online: 11 October 2006; Earth's orbit linked to extinctions. Spanish rodents lived and died by changes in our orbit. By: Heidi Ledford Mayor if you'd just stop hopping up and down the earth may hold still. Just another item in the "climate change is outside mans' control" line of reasoning. The Earth is well known to fluctuate in a number of defined ways: its axis wobbles about; its tilt with respect to the Sun changes; and the degree to... [read more]

File this under "I told you so!"
by jcmount, 07:02 AM, 1 Comments
Back when Seattle proposed the pricey, automated public toilets some of us said it was a waste of money. That no one would use them, they would become a haven for druggies, hookers, and other types of criminal activity. We warned that the maintenance and cleaning costs would be higher than projected. I told you so! "High-tech public toilets going to waste, city told fancy facilities are used for drugs, prostitution." Okay, it not a huge part of the budget,... [read more]

Unlike Seattle, Jordanians Know Terrorism When They See It
by ERNurse, 12:08 PM, 5 Comments
In Amman, Jordan, a Muslim male (surprise, surprise) shot one British tourist dead and wounded five others, including a Jordanian police officer. As the Muslim male opened fire, he shouted (surprise surprise) "Allahu Akhbar" (Muslim for "I'm going to kill you"). Jordan's Interior Minister Eid al-Fayez told reporters at the scene, "This is a cowardly terrorist attack, which we regret took place on Jordanian soil," [italics mine]. Al Fayez continued, "This operation is considered a terrorist act unless the man... [read more]

Seattle Schools Racism in the Name of Diveristy
by jcmount, 08:40 PM, 2 Comments
Seattle Schools ill informed attempt at "diversity" have made it onto the pages of National Review Online in an article by Peter Kirsanow. Seattle's obsession with adjusting the racial composition of schools that are diverse already fails the tests set forth in Grutter and Gratz. Indeed, it would be difficult to craft a racial-assignment policy more incongruent with the narrow tailoring requirement of strict scrutiny. He hits on everything wrong with this school policy. And is a window into why... [read more]

Seattlelites Hang on to Your Wallets
by jcmount, 08:04 AM, 6 Comments
Seattle is looking to dip farther into your wallets with a new tax package. This package features: a 34% increase in property taxes, $25 dollar a head worker tax, and 10% commercial parking "surcharge." They claim it is for 20 years, we all know how once a revenue stream is tapped getting government weaned off that source is near to impossible. There is no sunset clause in the package, so let's be honest; call it permanent. Only have vague "infrastructure"... [read more]

Why you should oppose Sybil Bailey's appointment to the SHA Board of Commissioners
by KeithGormezano, 04:37 PM, 0 Comments
If you live in the City of Seattle, you probably think that if Sybil L. (for Louise?) Bailey, the mayor's 65 year old, wheelchair bound, crusty nominee as the tenant representative on the Seattle Housing Authority's Board of Commissioners gets appointed, it won't have an effect on you. You may be mistaken. At the Seattle City Council Housing Committee meeting on August 1st which I attended, nearly a dozen SHA tenants said they didn't want Bailey, speaking for them on... Sound Questions
by JeffersonPaine, 10:05 AM, 1 Comments
What is it exactly about Fidel Castro that leftists so admire? Is it because there's a real-life 'working' socialist utopian state so close to our shores? And what is it with the love affair some people have with 'maverick' presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain? Excuse me, but isn't McCain a most obviously dangerous clown? Besides his loose-cannon politics, whenever I watch him pander in public or engage in his trademark demagogic gesticulation, why do see vivid images of Uncle Fester... [read more]

John Carlson slaps the Sonics
by Stefan Sharkansky, 12:32 PM, 0 Comments
John Carlson in his King County Journal column: "The other side of the Sonics sale could be good news" OK, someone's gotta say it, at least on this side of the Continental Divide. The sale of the Seattle Sonics and Storm is probably a good thing. It's good because the NBA needs a cold, crisp reminder that its economic model is slowly but inexorably crumbling. Just 11 short years ago the newly minted KeyArena was being touted as one of... [read more]
