More Candidates to Jump In the AG Race?
by 6p014e897b6287970d, 04:24 PM, 1 Comments
Amidst news today that John Laddenburg will not be running for Attorney General, two names have surfaced as possible dark horses. It is rumored that Snohomish Prosecutor Mark Roe and former State Senator Randy Gordon are considering tossing their names into the hat. Roe worked for 22 years as a Snohomish County deputy prosecutor before being elected to his current position. Gordon represented the city of Bellevue and currently owns his own law firm there. He is also an Adjunct... [read more]

The Most Dangerous Radiation Of All!!!!
by JeffB., 10:35 AM, 0 Comments
Forget about a few hundred microSieverts of radiation you might receive if you were onsite at the Fukushima Daiichi plants in Japan. That's less radiation than you would receive if you had to get a CAT Scan. The real danger is exposure to the Thousands of SieBSverts of collectivism, panic, cowardice and hysteria that the average American receives each year from television news organizations. This horrific radiation causes groupthink, self-doubt and depression. Saps motivation, encourages rage and infighting, and causes... [read more]

Any Muslim who can explain this.............Please?
by chekflow, 08:33 PM, 6 Comments
I'm confused. I heard today about this. So she has apparently gone deep underground. That being said, how you explain this as a Muslim? Was it because it was thought that Molly Norris was trying to be inflammatory? What if she was just trying to prove that we are 'tolerant".? To any Muslim who reads this: What are your thoughts on this issue? Do the depictions in the art shown in the link offend you as much as Ms. Norris's... [read more]

Republicans: Do You Know When and Where Your Monthly Leg. District Meets?
by michellemcntyr, 04:47 PM, 4 Comments
Scroll down for updates. Now crossposted at the brand new From the Roots Up website: "Putting the Party Back in the Hands of Grassroots Republicans" It occurred to me today, that if we Republicans want to see our party get back to winning again, and a key to this is more involvement from grassroots Republicans, we need to make it possible for more grassroots Republicans (more than say, the 10 or so who currently show up at Republican leg. district... Starting Out
by CliffPotter, 03:35 PM, 6 Comments
Thank you for the ease of entry into your blog. For the record, I am thinking of running against Darcy Burner and Dave Reichert. A lifelong Democrat now living in Sammamish, I have contributed to both the McCain and Clinton campaigns this year. I am a lawyer admitted to practice law and licensed in and before Illinois and Washington State, the US Supreme Court, and many US Courts of Appeals. An American Bar Foundation Fellow, I have been ranked in... [read more]

U.S. Soldiers-Defending your right to hate them publicly
by Cydney, 04:22 PM, 0 Comments
Another hat-tip to Orbusmax.Com for being on top of, well, everything 'round these parts, including this abomination: Fort Lewis officials are alerting soldiers and their families to avoid the Tacoma Mall between noon and 5:30 p.m. March 15 because of a planned anti-war protest at the commercial center of Pierce County. Mall officials are preparing accordingly. Local protest groups have announced their intention to "shutdown" the Tacoma Mall, specifically the military recruiting station in the commerical tower located on the... [read more]

Secure Elections Still A Value In Pierce County
by JeffB., 07:51 PM, 0 Comments
I feel sorry for you folks up in King County who are being strong armed in to all-mail-balloting. Especially when King County Executive Ron Sims lied and said that he had a plan in place for all-mail-balloting. Come to find out he didn't have a plan, and now King County is still trying to figure out how to implement a system that will leave voting less secure, less open, and more costly. Fortunately down here in Pierce County, we still... [read more]

Janet Huckabee at NWU (2/8/08)
by Cydney, 01:02 AM, 2 Comments
Yeah, yeah, I know this is a bit late getting up, but I've been busy. I finally got the videos up last night of the Q&A session with Janet Huckabee when she spoke at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA on the Friday before the Washington caucuses. I would venture to guess that around 300 to 400 people showed up, all quite enthusiastic. I was able to get some pictures at the event, which are available here, as well as with... [read more]

Not too far from here...
by Cydney, 01:13 PM, 1 Comments
So as the family continues packing up the house to move over to the ten acres (FYI, 30-day escrows are miserable), there has obviously been a lot of sorting and tossing going on. In every room that we've packed, there has been a Good Will pile, a trash pile, and a "keep" pile. There may even occasionally be a "give to the baby cousins" pile. Among the rubble, we realized that we had two vacuums that didn't work. Today's assignment... [read more]

by michellemcntyr, 06:15 PM, 10 Comments
Last night, David Bereit, the national director of 40 Days for Life, addressed the large crowd gathered from all over Washington, including leaders of all 4 Washington locations where 40 Days for Life campaigns are being held and where David visited earlier in the day (Everett, Olympia, Seattle and Tacoma). In today's daily campaign update and devotional, which is received by thousands of 40 Days for Life participants across the nation, David recounts the enthusiasm and determination of Washington State... Puyallup Criminal Enterprise and the Ineffectiveness of Pierce County Prosecutor
by Major04, 08:33 AM, 1 Comments
According to a recent King5 Investigation, Detective Stokke from Seattle Police informed Pierce County prosecutors over two years ago of a criminal enterprise operating in/around Puyallup. From King5 Chris Ingalls investigation, we are told that Det Stokke believes up to 100 cars a month with cash profit of up to $2000 and possibly more per car were generated from an odometer roll back scam. If we use a low/high approach then on the low side lets presume 50 cars a... [read more]

The Anti-Reichert Burner Buddies
by SCarnahan, 12:00 AM, 1 Comments
The letters to the editor brigade is going full steam against Rep. Reichert. In Saturday's King County Journal two letters (Letter 1, Letter 2 ) to the editor that came off the same boiler plate were put next to each other. I wonder how many of these letters were delivered to the paper, I find it rather funny to see the talking points put right next to each other. It shows that an organized effort is being made to attack... [read more]

Darcy Burner's Call Centers working today
by SCarnahan, 11:22 PM, 13 Comments
I got a call from the Darcy Burner for Congress call center (425-454-0519) again. I think that the last one was about a month ago. Started with the normal pleasantries. The volunteer asked if I knew who Darcy Burner was, and who I was supporting in the upcoming election. I told him that there was no way that I would send a person to Washington DC to represent my interests who doesn't take the time to vote in local elections.... [read more]

Darcy Burner's Campaign Calls
by SCarnahan, 12:22 PM, 12 Comments
I just got a call from a live human being calling for Darcy Burner's campaign. She was a volunteer so I was nice to her. She asked if I was aware of Darcy Burner running against Dave Reichart. I told her yes I was. She asked if I knew who I was going to vote for, I told her that yes I did. After a pause she asked who I was going to vote for. I told her that my... [read more]
