Rick Perry announced less than a week ago, and already I'm sick of the 'another governor from Texas' meme. When John Kerry ran in 2004, did Republicans break out in constant parrot-cries of "like Ted Kennedy, another Senator from Massachusetts?" Perhaps the thought came up, but it certainly was not plastered all over every news cycle. When Mike Huckabee ran, he was often criticized as too liberal in Republican circles. But I never heard anyone suggest that he was "another Bill Clinton."
This is yet another example of how the liberal mind is prone to magical thinking. I've heard that crows, once shot at, will flee any humans carrying an implement with the form-factor of a rifle, whether it's a rake, broom, 2x4, or actual rifle. I guess it's the same with liberals and Texas governors.
And it's another example of liberals propensity to stereotype, the sure sign of a weak mind. They think all rural people are dumb (especially those from Alaska); all blacks are unable to fend for themselves without extensive government help; most of all, all Texas governors are equivalent.
