A Tea Party Speaker of the House? Yes!!!

Well now that the republicans have won back control of the House, their first order of business will be to chose a speaker of the house. Most seem to think John Boehner will be the speaker. It certainly seems likely, however I would like to suggest another person. Ron Paul.

Given the gains in the house are due to the 'Tea Party' movement. Who better than the Father of the Tea Party Movement to be the new leader? Ron Paul is obviously much closer aligned to the ideals of the movement that is sweeping America than Boehner. All the congressman have been trying to align themselves to the movement as much as they can. They have been saying they are changed men and we should trust them. Would not electing Ron Paul to be Speaker send a clear message that they truly mean it?

Ron Paul is a more senior member of congress than Boehner. Believes in far less government than Boehner. Is far more principled than Boehner. And is more liked by independents and democrats than Boehner.

If you agree with this, I recommend joining the Ron Paul for Speaker of the House Facebook page, writing to your local congressman (if they are republican) asking them to vote for Ron Paul & write a press release stating it as well, encourage your friends to both as well.

1. Actually, most people credit Rick Santelli on CNBC for starting the idea of a Tea Party on his report, one day. It just sort of grew from there.

2. That was a key moment for sure, but the movement had started before then with Ron Paul's 2008 presidential campaign. See this link.
