Dino Rossi recently said, "I think that most people, Democrats and Republicans alike, see that the spending is bankrupting America," Rossi said in an interview. "Until we balance the budget, we need to ban earmarks."
Does Rossi not understand that earmarks do not increase spending? Does he not understand that earmarks are just a tiny portion of our spending? And most important, does Rossi understand that to truly balance the budget we will need to cut government programs and departments and he has not made any proposals to get us close to a balanced budget?
It is not good enough to say we need to do it. We need someone with a plan on how to get there. Rossi is not that man. When he did it for the state he did not cut government, he instead just tried to make it more efficient (never good enough for long term).
Didier wants to actually reduce government and would do things like eliminate programs that like farm subsidies. You know when someone is putting out there programs they actually benefit from to cut that he is serious about cutting back government!Posted by tpahl at August 12, 2010 03:28 AM | Email This
