Just watched O'Reilly and he stated his insurance premiums went up 2K this year. Mine went up for me and my child in July. My girlfriend's policy was eliminated and she had to switch to a higher priced plan.
ObamaCare was and remains a sham. It was passed despite the public's voice of opposition. Just like Prop 8 was overturned by judicial fiat in California. These events are beyond ideology. We are becoming a faded Republic and the soft tyranny of Big Government is choking our liberty.
The Euro-Socialistic domestic policy and Keynesian fiscal policies of the current (and to some part) the prior administration has proved to be a MASSIVE failure.
Now, the new "EduJobs" bill just passed. More state welfare from the feds paid for by a future generation. Are we not a Republic? When will the States stand on their own?
When you look to vote for a Congress member, do you think of what he will bring to Washington State in federal dollars that other citizens of other states will ultimately have to pay? Or do you think of how he or she will vote on federal legislation on behalf of us, the citizens of this State?
I vote using the latter my measure. I do not want a representative or Senator going to the Hill just to line our pockets with federal dollars paid by others who do not gain anything but pay nonetheless.
We have to vote for the candidate who believes in our republic and who will fight for smaller government and state independence, financially and otherwise.

I doubt anyone is going to see any of their insurance costs go down. All the new taxes will cause things to go up for many families.
Posted by: Michele on August 11, 2010 08:10 PMGood luck with that state Independence thing. Sounds like an interesting approach.
And look, Michele's on board! That's always a good omen.
Posted by: Your Friendly Insurance Exec on August 12, 2010 07:51 PMI also accept and encourage debate, but alas, many like you on the left want to hurl insults and sarcastic rhetoric around instead.
Do you feel better?
Posted by: Alan Davidson on August 12, 2010 08:04 PMAnd you know, whether your re birthing is successful or whether it is still born, you will be paying folks like me.
But you continue, please, with your rants against Euro-Socialistic whatever. A free market health care system is just what the doctor ordered.
Posted by: Your Friendly Insurance Exec on August 12, 2010 08:39 PMI am not "ranting".
There is no question that this current administration are following closely, a Euro-Socialistic model of governance. I simply opine that such models are deeply flawed. Pure unadulterated capitalism is also a poor model to follow as well.
I do notice one trait from "folks like you" though...you hide beyond anonymity. I post using my name. I can present an apology of my beliefs and opinions proudly with a firm defense. You hide.
That, speaks volumes.
Posted by: Alan Davidson on August 12, 2010 09:21 PMPosted by: Your Friendly Insurance Exec on August 12, 2010 10:31 PM"The top executives at the nation's five largest for-profit health insurance companies pulled in nearly $200 million in compensation last year - while their businesses prepared to hit ratepayers with double-digit premium increases, according to a new analysis conducted by healthcare activists. The leaders of Cigna Corp., Humana Inc., UnitedHealth Group and WellPoint Inc. each in effect received raises in 2009, the report concluded, based on an analysis of company reports filed with the Security and Exchange Commission."
Funny how liberal progressives wax on about "outrageous" compensation for executives in INDUSTRIES THEY DON'T LIKE!
They have no problem with John Kerry and his riches. Pelosi with her riches, Clinton with his hundreds of millions of dollars, the Hollywood and entertainment gagillionaires.
Oh, and of course Arianna Huffington is no problem with all her wealth. And of course progressives have no problem with George Soros and his BILLIONS, made by the way by CAPITALISTIC means and a try to destroy an entire country's currency in the process. That's all well and good.....isn't it?
I get it. if an certain industry executive is paid a enormous amount and he or she happens to be in an industry that liberals and progressives hate, it's a disgrace, but if they make their wealth in an industry that they LIKE, that's all well and good. Al Gore making 150+ million by TALKING? Good work! A health care executive making the same by providing care services for the sick? BAD. EVIL.
The Prez can demonize "fat cat bankers", but Soros isn't included because he is a supporter, right?
So much for branding the Republican Party the “party of the rich.”
So much for Michelle Obama’s call to spurn corporate America and hedge fund companies and the perks of private-sector life.
Earn as they say, not as they earn:
READ IT AND WEEP:
Top White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers received about $5.2 million over the past year in compensation from hedge fund D.E. Shaw, and also received hundreds of thousands of dollars in speaking fees from major financial institutions.
A financial disclosure form released by the White House shows that Mr. Summers made frequent appearances before Wall Street firms including J.P. Morgan, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers. He also received significant income from Harvard University and from investments, the form shows.
In total, Mr. Summers made a total of about 40 speaking appearances to financial sector firms and other places, with fees totaling about $2.77 million. Fees ranged from $10,000 for a Yale University speech to $135,000 for an appearance paid for by Goldman Sachs & Co…
More cashin’ in from the true representatives of the little people:
David Axelrod, the president’s top political advisor, reported in his form that he will get $3 million over the next five years from the sale of his two media consulting firms, ASK Public Strategies, LLC and AKP&D Message and Media. In addition, Mr. Axelrod took a salary of $896,776 last year from AKP&D and reported $651,914 in partnership income from the two companies.
In total, Mr. Axelrod reported assets valued between $6.9 million and $9.5 million. Mr. Axelrod’s clients were mostly political campaigns, including those of Rep. Patrick Kennedy, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. He also reported receiving money from large corporations such as AT&T Inc., Comcast Corp. and the nuclear energy company Exelon Corp…
Valerie Jarrett, assistant to the president for intergovernmental affairs, lists a $300,000 salary and $550,000 in deferred compensation from The Habitat Executive Services, Inc., in Chicago.
Ms. Jarrett also disclosed payments of more than $346,000 for service on boards of directors that reflect her political ties, and work in Chicago real estate and community development.
She was paid $76,000 last year for service as a director of Navigant Consulting, Inc. a Chicago-based global consulting group with governmental clients. She received $146,600 for service on the board of USG Corporation, a building materials manufacturer, and $58,000 to serve on the board of Rreef American REIT II, a real estate investment trust based in San Francisco. The Chicago Stock Exchange, Inc., paid her $34,444 to serve on its board.
Deputy National Security Advisor Tom Donilon earned $3.9 million as a partner at the law firm of O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where his clients include Citigroup, Inc., Goldman, Sachs & Co., and Obama fundraiser and heiress Penny Pritzker.
Carol Browner, assistant to the president for energy and climate change, disclosed earnings of between $1 million and $5 million from lobbying firm Downey McGrath Group, Inc., where her husband, Thomas Downey, is a principal. She states $450,000 in “member distribution” income, plus retirement and other benefits from The Albright Group, a lobbying firm whose principals include former Secretary of State Madeline Albright.
See? Making millions from lobbying efforts or hedge funds run by FAT CAT WALL STREET FIRMS is okey-dokey if you are a liberal, progressive and or a member of the current administration, but BAD if working for "the other side"
Thank you.
Now I know the rules!

Posted by: Your Friendly Insurance Exec on August 13, 2010 01:57 PMWe are LEGION.
Posted by: Alan Davidson on August 13, 2010 02:03 PMIt ain't about who you vote out, but who you vote in. And the only thing that is "LEGION" are the work a day fools like yourself who we work up every so often one way or another in to a fearful frenzy so we can pick what remains from your increasingly empty pockets.
Today it is "Euro-Socialsts", yesterday it was Islamic Terrorism, in two years it will be something else.
But I wish you luck. I get paid by you no matter what, but a return to Republican majorities is slightly better than Democrat majorities.
We've wonderful surprises in store for your health care now that you have to pay us no matter what.
Vote out, vote in: a straw-man argument and a play on the semantics the left knows so well, but we are in on it now.
Fearful frenzy? The President and his minions are the best teachers of such tactics along with the water carrying press who forward the same. Watch out for those violent racist tea party folks! Don't go out and buy ice cream in Arizona or they will throw you in prison for "walking while being Hispanic" etc, on and on....
I see you are flush with excitement that I have to "pay you". And that we will suffer under whatever rules you try and force upon us with your ObamaCare.
Your delight in these things reveals your true nature.
No integrity. Cynical. Mean-spirited.
And a coward since I, Alan Davidson, once again inform you of my name and you hide in anonymity, cowering.
