Food Co-op boycotts Israel

It's truly obtuse that, according to the AP, the Olympia Food Co-op has "received hundreds of mostly supportive calls and e-mails...since the board decided last week to boycott products from Israel."

"The boycott aims to compel Israel to respect Palestinian rights."

Helen Thomas would be proud.

(While they were at it, "the co-op has also boycotted products from Norway and China to object to whaling and human rights violations." This is really a full service grocery store, offering foreign policy in addition to milk and bread.)

I await with eager anticipation the annoucement of a sidewalk sale to raise money for rockets for Hamas and Hezbollah.

1. Precisely why is that "obtuse"? Surely conservatives can appreciate that you should have the right to hold onto your land and keep it in use as you see fit. Right-wing Israeli settlers have no respect for property rights.
