Why did the Seattle Chicken cross the road?

Why, because it had full and express government permission to do so. Otherwise no Good Little Seattle Chicken would dare cross. The recent SPD jaywalking/punching incident brings up a question: do we really need government to tell us how to cross the street? Even local liberals Dan Savage (of The Stranger) and Lee (of Horsesass.org) question the criminalization of jaywalking. According to Savage it does not improve safety. It has gone the way of "cowabunga" or "neat-o", and been relegated to the dustbin of disused speech. Terrorism, in short, is a non-word.
