Rick Larsen = Nancy Pelosi
Our 2nd District congressman has voted lockstep in line with Nancy Pelosi since he got to Washington D.C. San Francisco values are not 2nd Congressional District values. The next campaign needs to hammer home the point that a vote for Rick Larsen is a vote for Nancy Pelosi because they are essentially the same person!

Yeah, that is a good sentiment. However, the Rs have been putting up 'one and done' Republicans against Larsen ever since the narrow win over Koster many moons ago. None get any traction and the newspapers certainly don't give cover.
You have to attack Larsen by going after the phoniness in his positions. During his town halls last summer, he claimed to be against many portions of the bill and the one he okays was a lot worse than the bills being floated last summer.
And if he had any qualms about specific aspects, he certainly didn't verbalize them. And yet, as of Monday, the Herald hasn't reported on his vote and why he voted 'yes'.
I got an excuse email today from Larsen. I'd guess he sent it out to everyone on his list.
Looks like he's begun his 2010 campaign. He'll probably need the extra time.
3. So, what's the excuse and what have you heard regarding the sacraficial lamb the Rs will put up?
4. I agree with you 100% about the sacrificial lamb thing. That's why it's important that the national republican party and the state party gets behind one CONSERVATIVE candidate early. There is no way that the 2nd Congressional district is a 62% democrat district. We have been fooled into thinking that Rick Larson is a moderate blue dog democrat when in fact he is a very liberal congressman. In 44 roll call votes this congress in which both the speaker and Larsen have had the oppurtunity to vote on the exact same issue, Larsen has voted with Pelosi 44 times.
The 2nd district is 40-40 with the battle for the middle 20. It might be 30-30 with the middle 40 up for grabs.
Any good bodies out there? I don't think I could get on board for Rick Bart.
6. I haven't heard about anybody yet. I doubt that anyone who has ran against Larsen before would want to do it again.
