Just in case they try the WA Income Tax thing again:

Here's a story you never heard, out of Tennessee:

Seems the Tennessee legislature tried to ram that through on them, in 1999, in defiance of their State Constitution. The People brought a stop to it.

1. Total Money Makeover radio host and TN resident Dave Ramsey says it was quite the spectacle during that time in Tennessee. Interesting to note that one of the problems with the Tennessee budget was their "Hillary-care light" program, which was draining the state coffers due to what Prof. Reynolds describes as being riddled with "fraud" and "incompetence". But of course that would NEVER happen with a nationalized health care plan......would it?

2. The Politicians on both sides will always keep that card, representing a State Income Tax, at the ready to play upon the Public when, they feel the time is right. They will try and sell the Rip-Off by saying it will replace another tax like the Sales Tax and the Public will save and have a reduction in their Tax expenditures overall. What a LIE! Politicians always want more and more of the hard earned earnings of the Tax Payer and the game-play/Con of replacing the Sales Tax with a Income Tax is calculated to Steal MORE and not Less from the Tax Payer...PERIOD!

3. Never say 'never,' but if they could not move forward on a state income tax in 2009, it does not seem likely for the foreseeable future. They had roughly a $10 billion deficit (oh yeah I know, there was no 'deficit') and total democrat control, yet couldn't move forward.

At this point the income tax seems like mostly a diversion and a canard. Eyman has an excellent spending growth initiative on the ballot (I-1033) and almost no one is talking about it. The election is only weeks away.
