Joni rambles about how Greg Nickels was such a good mayor w/ his 25% win and how Joe Mallahan and Mike McGinn are spoilers, because they did not go through Seattle's 16 year Farm Team like Jan Drago who polled 7%.
Posted by SeattleRepublicans at August 26, 2009 09:42 PM | Email ThisIt all depends on how many voters reach the same eureka moment about the somewhat scary prospect of a novice running City Hall and another question mark over newcomer Susan Hutchison running King County.
sounds about right. all the more reason we're pulling for hutchison to choke. kc exec isn't the place to 'try out' your hand at playing goverment.
Posted by: mike on August 26, 2009 11:18 PMyet somehow you found a 1st term senator (not even close to his mid-term) with little (Community organizer-Pls hold laughter) or rather NO executive experience WAS qualified for the POTUS?
I'd call that cognitive dissonance, mike. Please clarify.
Posted by: Rick D. on August 27, 2009 05:28 PM....Right?
Posted by: Michele on August 27, 2009 08:52 PMi understand you are against community and can't stand that some people would try to organize the under represented and lift the country as a whole. you also seem to have (willfully) forgotten obama was a state senator. but that's not a surprise.
furthermore, he served 2 years as senator before announcing his presidential run. there is no requirement to even be a senator to run for president. i know it is difficult to understand for ya, rick. one day, you won't be a blind sheep.
and obama's not a radical leftist. you guys are seriously mistaken on so many levels, it's laughable. but yes, i supported him over mccain, especially after mccain pulled the dumbest move ever by selecting an underqualified quitter/loser/hypocrite as his veep.
Posted by: mike on August 27, 2009 09:30 PMmost presidents have no executive experience. bush did, and he was a friggin joke.
False. Prior to Obama, who was the last SENATOR (not Governor to be elected president, mike? The modern day presidency has been held exclusively by those with executive experience...until this president. Quit lying to support your weak arguments.
you also seem to have willfully) forgotten obama was a state senator. but that's not a surprise.
..and you seem to have forgotten that being part of a legislative body like the senate is not an executive position. Keep banging those cymbals mike...
furthermore, he served 2 years as senator before announcing his presidential run.
Thanks for confirming my earlier stats. He served 1/3 of his FIRST term before abandoning his state and pursuing his own personal interests. What a classy guy.
and obama's not a radical leftist.
...cue the canned laughter
Posted by: Rick D. on August 28, 2009 06:04 AMbefore you go spouting more lies, please tell me the last president before bush with 'executive experience' (it should be easy for a partisan hack like you)
the last senator was nixon, but neither ford nor bushI were govs.
so the modern presidency hasn't been 'exclusively' governors, dimwit. and only 17 of 44 have been governors (so most were not governors)
and again, executive experience isn't required for president.
seriously, rick. your grasp on reality is so far gone it's sad. i hope you don't have kids.
Posted by: mike on August 28, 2009 08:22 AMFord was in the HOR for 25 years (like the Jr. senator Obama) and 8 of those years he served as the Republican minority leader. He was constitutionally placed into the presidency after the resignation of Nixon.
Bush Sr. was the head of the CIA for 8 years followed by 8 years serving as the Vice President of the United States. He also had a distinguished military career before that. you truly are an ignorant dolt, mike.
so the modern presidency hasn't been 'exclusively' governors, dimwit.
I didn't say that dumbass, you did. I said executive experience and I'm correct.
First of all, Seattle deserves this guy.
Secondly, we need to get his peculiar brand of hatred out of the legislature.
Posted by: hinton on August 28, 2009 10:58 AMand again, executive experience isn't required for president.
Is it required for mayor or KC Executive? What's the executive experience of Murray or McGinn? How about Constantine?
