ESSB 5808 takes your right to vote - Referendum 72 Gets It Back
by 6p011570992f4f970c, 11:50 PM, 14 Comments
On April 13, 2009 SB 5808 was filed into law to address the annexation of fire districts into cities and towns. The law was presented as a way to help fire district employees retain benefit packages but it had other harmful effects to taxpayers of that area. This law creates a new right for cities and towns to expand their boundaries without any input or vote from the residents that will be affected by this change. Signing Referendum 72 will... Tacoma PD: the perversion of charity.
by 6p01053690976c970c, 07:39 PM, 0 Comments
The Tacoma News Tribune ran this story this past week. Tacoma PD chief Don Ramsdell says that they 'made a mistake' by paying officers for a 10 hour shift to play in a basketball game for charity. They also were paid to practice for the game. Not only did they get paid while not doing police work, the game did not last 10 hours, and other officers had to be paid overtime to cover the missed shifts. Meanwhile, Tacoma residents... Wanted: A "YES" Chorus
by RagnarDanneskold, 11:26 PM, 1 Comments
This infuriates me, especially in light of my oft told story about Patty Murray purposefully and willfully ignoring the will of her constituents and then bragging about it by calling them stupid. Dear Friend, I don't need to tell you that our health care system is in crisis. You see it first hand in your pay checks, your premiums, your business costs and your ability to access the care you need when you need it. And I am working in... [read more]

Fascist policies for indefinite detainment of terror suspects...
by 6p010536f20fe0970c, 03:46 PM, 0 Comments
...coming from the Obama Administration! The Washington Post reports as follows: The Obama administration, fearing a battle with Congress that could stall plans to close Guantanamo, has drafted an executive order that would reassert presidential authority to incarcerate terrorism suspects indefinitely, according to three senior government officials with knowledge of White House deliberations. Such an order would embrace claims by former president George W. Bush that certain people can be detained without trial for long periods under the laws of... [read more]

PSRC Vision 2040: A Long-Term Plan (To Inconvenience You)
by 6p01157168a468970b, 02:59 PM, 2 Comments
It took the Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) 2 or more years to come up with their latest scheme to suppress auto transportation, single family homes, and suburban life, and to promote fetishism of extortionately expensive rail, environmental fads, and dense, mixed-use, multifamily urban life. Right now your lifestyle is optional to a degree--theirs won't be, now or in the future. They're giving you a month and a half to comment, of which you have 2 weeks left (until July... [read more]

Mammoth report faults Seattle street-division managers
by SeattleRepublicans, 06:55 AM, 0 Comments
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/politics/2009362606_cityreport20m.html Saturday Jun-20's article by Susan Kelleher, Bob Young and Jonathan Martin of the Seattle Times pretty much speaks for itself "Seattle's transportation department spent more than $500,000 to investigate a slew of discrimination complaints by its workers, but when the yearlong probe was completed the department learned that a bigger problem was its own managers." Whether the Seattle City Council candidates at the 5pm Thursday Jun-18th Candidate Forum in City Hall recognize that change means core competence is a... [read more]

Real Cyclists vs. Biketivists
by JeffB., 07:42 AM, 13 Comments
Look at this KATU story of the naked loons riding their Bikes through Portland the other night. A whole thousand! These self-righteous fools think they are calling attention to important causes and that soon everyone will be commuting by bicycle. They act in a generally activist and lawless manner as they take to the streets in naked bike rides, critical mass rides, always running stop signs and lights the whole way along, they are in your face, and proud of... THURSTON HIGHLANDS AUCTION NOW POSTPONED UNTIL AUGUST The Thurston Highlands auction rescheduled for today at 10am has been postponed until August 7th. HMMM! The NVN said, "Thurston Highlands note was purchased by an unknown investment group and the company declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy, halting foreclosure proceedings. 'It puts the LLC into the position where it stops the foreclosure process,' said developer Steve Chamberlain. 'It's a means in which to get time to work things out.' ... The property was going... More broken campaign promises and lies from Obama:DOJ moves to dismiss first fed gay marriage case
by Hinton, 11:10 PM, 5 Comments
We all know that Obama has been a lying scum bag, and here, he's kicked yet another group gullible enough to support this empty-suited little worm's election. So, what's next on his List of Lies? You leftists wanted him? Well, you've got him. Boycott David Letterman!
by 6p01053690976c970c, 05:24 PM, 15 Comments
David Letterman is a slime mold. Actually that is unfair to slime molds, which serve the valuable ecological function of getting rid of garbage. Letterman only produces garbage. On a recent show he joked about Sarah Palin's 14-year-old daughter, who had attended a Yankees game in NYC, saying that the girl was 'knocked up' by a Yankee player while at the game. Notice in the youtube video how the weasel Letterman's tongue darts out and around, about 20 seconds into... [read more]

50% of children not ready for Kindergarten????
by 6p01156f6eab72970b, 06:48 AM, 3 Comments
Washington's missed opportunity for school readiness http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/opinion/2009301888_guest05bancroft.html Washington state missed a critical opportunity to ensure that at-risk children were ready for school when Gov. Chris Gregoire vetoed a legislative plan to help, writes guest columnist John Bancroft. The challenge of 50 percent of young children not prepared for kindergarten still needs solving. What in the world does "50% of kids are not ready for kindergarten" mean? Where is this study? They didn't pass the WASL? Did you know that 50%... [read more]

Yelm Thurston Highlands: 100 Comments AGAINST City's MDNS

NOT ONE COMMENT FAVORING YELM'S MDNS - YET 100 AGAINST Regarding the City of Yelm's Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance (MDNS) on their water plan, almost 100 citizens wrote to the City criticizing the City's MDNS and requested an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on the City's proposed applications for 3,200 acre-feet/year of new water rights. This is an astounding public response in opposition to the City's attempt to sneak through an environmental review of its water rights applications! Quoting the NVN:... [read more]

Cheney makes liberal heads explode by saying something they agree with
by guitarplayr, 11:26 PM, 0 Comments
I love when this happens. When the most vilified man in the Bush administration, Darth Cheney actually says something they agree with, the liberals actually have to dial back their hatred and accept that maybe not all republicans and conservatives are howling homophobes, as they try to make them appear to be. It's hard to marginalize someone who is being honest and reasonable, isn't it? And I totally agree with him on the federalism issue. Cheney Hints He Supports Gay... [read more]

Intimidation tactics at the hands of gay rights supporters taints our referendum process
by guitarplayr, 12:33 AM, 7 Comments
I heard this on the radio in passing earlier today, and confirmed it on Hot Air this evening. This sort of intimidation pisses me off. Let me say before I post the story details that until I read this, I had no intention of joining the fray for referendum 71, which seeks a public vote to overturn the recently signed same sex partnership laws here in Washington. If anything, I thought that addressing this out of the marriage arena brought... [read more]

Groups to 'out' those who sign petition against same-sex unions

Anyone feeling like confronting me over it? Please. Bring it on.
