The Race for King County Executive so it begins

The race for King County Executive has just gotten underway and the
behavior of some of the sideline pundits is downright reprehensible.
I have known Susan Hutchison for almost five years. The things that are being
said do not depict the person I know.

For years Susan has worked tirelessly to make King County a better place for
all. She should be looked upon as a positive example of one who has inspired
so many to believe in themselves and be the best they can be.

Instead what we have are people on both sides of the political aisle trying to
bring her down. All for the sake of hanging on to their power.
In the case of the GOP Susan is one the last remaining threats to the
establishment maintaining control of the party. As for the democrats
there actions speak for themselves.

There is so much more to Susan Hutchison than twenty five years of Kiro Tv.
It's a shame more people don't know her for what she has accomplished in
in life, instead of whom they think she is. She is one of the finest individuals
I have ever known and the best candidate for King County Executive.

1. FYI: Before anyone decides to comment on this post.
I want to make it very clear that I will not respond
to any snide or inflammatory remarks that are stated
here. So if your thinking about doing that don't waste your time writing it.

2. No one here knows what is being done either negatively or positively for Susan Hutchison.

I hope she gets the gig. Republicans haven't got anyone else on their bench to oppose her. In fact, it is time to get a bench and this is a good start.

This would be a good time to start promoting her.

3. Swatter,

I'm glad you brought this up. Because I'm reminded
of another thing I need to clarify. I want everyone
to hear this(I AM NOT NOW NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN SUSAN"S SPOKESPERSON. Furthermore I am not on her
payroll nor do I have any official position on
her campaign staff. Anyone who is interested should
check out susanhutchison.com. The fact is I can't
even tell you who her campaign manager is because
I honestly don't know.

4. What I find so amusing in today's politics, it is the liberal media dictating to the Republicans what is supposedly wrong with their party and who or what should be their candidate.

What is sad is when the party apparatti arbitrarily select who should or shouldn't be the candidate. Pennsylvania and Florida comes to mind for today. The McGavick v. Hutchison throwdown is another.

The process dictates a primary election; i.e. two Rs or two Ds facing off each other.

Go Susan. So far she is the only good candidate.

5. Phil - You don't say what the sideline pundits are saying or who the Susan is that you know. It would be good to hear that. Also don't quite understand how she is one of the "...last remaining threats to the establishment maintaining control of the party." I thought the party supported her run? Have you heard otherwise? You end by saying there's much more to Susan than her 25 years at KIRO. Again, you don't elaborate. If you know Susan please share. I'm sure other's would like to get to know her better. I don't understand why you're so vague about all these things.

That said, like you, I'm a supporter. Thanks.

6. IMFletch,

I'm not going to go into the various things that are
being said about Susan. They simply aren't worth
repeating. All I will say is when you have people like
David Goldstein and Erika Barnett to name a few.
spew the kind of garbage that they are about her.
It's apparent that they really hate her and they
don't even know her. In the case of Goldstein
he's already dug into Susan's IRS records and
then posted on his website for all the world
to see how much money she made the last two years.
Knowing him as I do he will keeping digging
until finds what he thinks is a smoking gun.

Erika Barnett for whatever reason has it in
for Susan. Anyone that would write that kind
of hate about someone they don't even know.
Is a really screwed up individual and should
spend a lot of time looking at themselves in the
mirror before they start throwing stones at
someone else. As I said there is more but I will
just at leave at that.

As to the Republican side of things I am more
troubled by what I am not seeing or hearing.
What makes you think the party as whole is
supporting her? To date I have seen nothing
or heard anything suggesting they are. While
I know district 41 is supporting Susan. I have
not seen either the KCGOP or the WSRP stating
anywhere for the record that they do.

Nor have I seen any of the political blogs
stating there support for her either. To my
knowledge Mr Sharkansky has said nothing.
Yet I seem to remember he and sound politics
being in the tank for McGavick almost from
day one. This is just one example of many that
have said nothing. Now why do you think that
is? Yes I saw Ron Hebron's story about Susan
when she announced she was running. But that
didn't even come close to scratching the
surface.

My political instincts and my gut tell me there
is someone else they all know about who is
seriously considering running for King County
executive. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong but
I have had a bad feeling about this for a while
now.

As to Susan yes I do know her. If you really
want to know about her from my perspective.
Let me know and I will send you a link to my
blog. There you can read some of things I said
about Susan as I got too know her.

When I first wrote this story I was not
attempting to do in depth look at I what
I was writing about. Susan doesn't need
defending, She is about as tough as they come.
But after a while I grew frustrated reading
that stuff and I had to say something.

7. Well, Phil, hold your fire. During McGavick and during McCain, the party people said that only McCain and McGavick have a prayer of winning in this state, so why not go with the flow? Little did they realize that the Democrats were rope-a-doping them (key word: dope) and when those two were selected, they turned on them quickly. It was laughable the way McGavick got twisted when his good buddy Postman turned on him just like that.

There is a battle going on now in the R party for its future- those that want conservative type values and those that just "want to get along and in doing so, lose respect of their opponents".
