I want to call your attention to a brand new grassroots effort, here in the state of Washington, to end tax funding of abortion. There is a website now dedicated to this cause and educating the public about how our tax money is used towards abortion: http://prochoicewithmymoney.blogspot.com/ The website has a link to an online petition that will ultimately be presented to legislators to show how much support there would be for a bill to end tax funded abortion. Each year, our state legislature directs an average of $7 million of the money it receives from you--the taxpayer--to fund abortion in Washington. Even in this economic crisis, the proposed budget is directing $9 million to "family planning", which largely includes abortion.
