Today is just another day.
We don't live in a nation where pomp and ceremony are paramount. We live in a nation that is ruled by laws and reveres the sanctity of the individual.
Barack Obama is no more important or noteworthy than any other president or individual in this nation. And for that matter, there are a lot of productive people in this nation who are far more important to our success.
Don't become a part of the ridiculous Academy Awards like spectacle of Hollywood A-Listers, and other haughty and contrived sycophants.
This inauguration should be like any other, a peaceful transfer of power. A brief moment that is just part of the daily job. And only the first day on the job. Did they celebrate your first day on the job as the coming of angels, or did they wait to see if you could actually perform your duties better than the last guy?
For self respecting Americans, today should be another productive day focusing on what you can do for yourself and your world, and not a day of idle idolatry.
I have never watched an inauguration, and today will be the same.
Lastly, a question to those fawning over Barack Obama's melanin content. How do we get beyond race with an obsessive focus on race?
