Alternate Energy to Help America

Biofuels Technologies Enterprises, Inc. (BTE)

Greeting My Fellow Americans,

There is a small company in Maryland called "Biofuels Technologies Enterprises Inc. (BTE)", which is working towards a technology for the production of BioCrude Oil (bio-oil) which has an energy content that is nearly equivalent to that of standard fossil light crude oil.

Our company has been working very hard to get in a position to offer BioCrude Oil Generators and BioCrude Oil to the public and to businesses but due to the very hard economic times, we have had to finance everything out of our own personal finances as well as try to take care of our families.

You can probably imagine that this is very difficult and our available funds have been stretched to their limits. We are not currently receiving any type of salary and have taken outside jobs while we word hard to get the company up and running.

Because of this, and not currently seeing where additional funding which might come from that could enable us to complete our basic prototype and other critical company expenses like getting established on the NASDAQ (OTC) stock market, I have decided to post our executive summary here and to ask people like yourself to consider donating some funds, even a small amount or what ever you might be able to afford, to help us complete this most important Alternate Energy work.

Our company had been designed from the ground up with the primary goal of helping local communities become energy independent by offering them BioCrude Oil generators that can use local biomass to produce inexpensive oil that can be used for home heating and other fuel sources.

Additionally, our company is designed from its basic inception to establish education scholorships & endowments, create many local jobs, financially help local communities to include charities, helping the disadvantaged and elderly as well as supporting local community improvement efforts at the city, county and state level.

The fundamental design of the company is to empower people to help themselves by efficiently utilizing renewable alternate energy resources and take back control of our current dependence on foreign oil imports because we can now do it better, cleaner, more efficiently, and less expensively than importing the current 70% of our in excess of 20,000,000 barrels of oil used each day in America.

It's time for America to tack back control of our energy needs and to become exporters of BioCrude Oil to the world.

I do not know how to prove to you that we are making an honest and true effort to help people, but to ask for your trust and also to say that you are free to call me or email me at:

lonnie@biofuelstechnologyinc.com

Additionally, if you are not able to financially help then perhaps you may consider to post this message on forums and blogs that you may know.

As you may know, BioCrude oil from standard biomass such as wood chips, tree thinnings and the like have an energy content of about 7100 BTU/lb and you would be exactly correct in stating that it is significantly lower than the standard light crude oil which has an energy content of about 18300 BTU/lb.

However, the BioCrude oil that our company is working to produce has an energy content of about 17800 BTU/lb which is almost equivalent to that of standard fossil light crude oil (about 98% equivalent) and the crude oil is much cleaner for the environment and helps mitigate the effect of global warming as well as being much less expensive to produce.

All of this can be done right hear at home in America which will help to significantly reduce our dependence on foreign oil imports and drastic crude oil price spikes like we have seen in recent times.

What this means is that our BioCrude Oil can be used as a one-to-one replacement for standard fossil light crude oil in its entirety and can be refined in exactly the same way as a standard barrel of fossil crude oil.

What this also translates to is that the BioCrude Oil being produced by our technology, being refined in exactly the same way as standard light crude oil, can make the same many thousands of chemical products and fuel products that are currently derived from standard crude oil and for much less expense.

BTE has charged it mission and goals to be that of helping America and her citizens to significantly reduce, or better yet completely eliminate in the distant future, the current national dependencies on foreign oil imports and by helping local communities and their citizens by instilling a Local Sustainability Model in community regions.

This business model helps communities to become more self sufficient in their energy needs by efficiently utilizing existing renewable resources from within their local areas.

BTE does this by enabling technologies that allow for the production of BioCrude oil here at home in America and at a price that is significantly less per barrel than that of currently imported fossil light crude oil by utilizing the annually renewable biomass resources, as well as cutting edge biomass resources, for the feedstock in the BTE proprietary processing methods.

The company, BTE, is developing and micro-industrializing two base energy pathways that will significantly help America reduce this overburdening oil import problem and oil expense problem.

Firstly, BTE is building small scale BioCrude Oil generators that are completely safe and easy to operate by the general public while being extremely affordable to purchase or lease. The size of these small BioCrude oil generators is about the size of a refrigerator which allows them to be easily shipped worldwide, as needed, quickly and efficiently.

These small generators may be scaled up as needed to accommodate various production needs encountered by rural homes, farms, and co-ops along with local area micro-industrial scales possible as well.

BTE's production goals are to be able to get these generators out to the people that need them, and can use them NOW and NOT LATER.

Our purpose is to start providing energy relief to people when they need it, which is now and not to get caught up in political debate and party scuffle while American citizens suffering to make ends meet while trying to take care of their families.

The biomass for these generators can come from just about ANY of the many available biomass feedstocks and will help people by allowing them to turn the many tons of renewable biomass that they already have each year like wood chips, leaves, grass, and even coal into usable BioCrude for use in the homes for things as heating oils, and small power generators.

The idea being that these small generators, while although maybe not for everyone to purchase or lease, will enable those citizens, or groups, to gain some amount of local community energy independence by empowering a "Local Sustainability Model (LSM)" for communities and cities.

This model is further extended to cover supersets of this in regional, or State Sustainability Model (SSM) which will further be encompassed within a National Sustainable Model (NSM).

The whole fundamental process is that we de-centralize energy resources by enabling local areas to provide most of the needs of their communities and rely upon the superset model for additional resources, but still being in the wider local area which will significantly reduce Americas import dependence.

The other product that BTE is working to produce is a foundation for mid-size BioCrude oil production facilities what will produce the HIGH-ENERGY content (41 Mega-Joules/Kilogram where as Standard Light Crude Oil has 42 Mega-Joules/Kilogram) oil in much larger daily volumes that are expected to be in the tens of thousands, or more, of barrels per day and which can then be sold directly to larger existing refineries for standard processing, as well as stimulating the development of national micro-refineries that will come online as a result of the significantly less expensive, but high quality, BioCrude which will be produced here at home in United States.

The BioCrude Oil production facilities can be envisioned to be spread out across the nation and could collectively generate most of the daily oil needs of America and utilize our existing oil based infrastructure.

Another exciting aspect of the BioCrude oil that we will be producing is that it can be tuned as needed for Americas future alternate energy direction and should be direction move towards a Hydrogen economy then our existing generators can supply the feedstocks for the production of hydrogen fuel with minimal effort and/or modifications needed and without all of the toxic elements found in existing light crude oil.

Not only, can our generators process existing biomass feedstocks which are carbon neutral and are generally renewed annually, but they can also easily, and without modification, process existing stockpiles of Americas huge coal reserves into a crude oil which is a viable measure of interest currently being heavily looked at by many national companies as well as our government, towards a intermediate, but temporary solution until other alternate energies have been further developed and put into place.

Our generators can make direct effects towards helping third-world countries in addition to greatly assisting in national hurricane, flood, and other disaster relief efforts by supplying on-site energy for cooking, heating, and other immediate uses.

One of the characteristics of our BioCrude oil is that, although it possesses the properties of light fossil crude oil and can be processed in the same way to create thousands of chemicals, green gasoline, green diesel, green jet fuel, and home/business/school heating oils, it also has similar properties to that of heavier diesel oil that can be combusted directly.

Additionally, our company has been designed from the ground up to be heavily integrated into local communities through our Local Sustainable Model (LSM) approach to business which is a new business model for empowering local communities to become more self-sufficient in there energy needs.

The BTE LSM approach does this by specifically establishing local and national charity funds, establishing endowments and scholarships for our youth by helping students to meet the educational needs of local schools and college support, to help schools get equipment and textbooks that they need to better teach our children and promote higher levels of academics so that future generations in America can take on the growing challenges facing our world, to create local jobs and businesses stemming from offshoots of our business, to help local citizens with affordable heating oils and energy needs, to helping the elderly and disadvantaged with basic necessities to improve the quality of life.

These are just a few things that we have encompassed as our basic goals and mission as a company. And, while true that we are a company with the goals of making profits for our stockholders as well, we are firmly rooted in the belief of Goodness of Character and that of Honorability in Action.

We strongly believe that if you have a good product that will help people in many ways then the money and growth of our company will come as a consequence of doing the right thing to help others.

I do not need to tell you about the necessity of supporting such efforts being put forth by companies like BTE as well as others, and although not claiming to be the total solution to Americas Energy Crisis problem, BTE does claim to be taking steps towards offering a significant part of the solution to the problem but needs more help to achieve this goal.

We currently have an extensive and highly educated team of professionals that have come together to take on this daunting task but know that building a strong "team" sharing a similar vision will enable us to meet the energy demands of today and while planning and preparing for those of tomorrow as well.

The seriousness of Americas basic energy needs pervades into the existence of our very lives and the lives of our future generations. We must come together and work as a team to solve our national crisis so that our great country can restore its luster and predominance as a beacon of stability and prosperity for the world to see.

I openly invite you to consider joining, or helping to sponsor the basic growth and research efforts of our company, Biofuels Technologies Enterprises Inc. (BTE), so that we may be able to move forward and help our great nation.

If you would be interested in learning more about our efforts then we invite you please contact us at your earliest convenience so that we may be able to discuss our company energy goals and dedicated community mission in greater detail.

1. Uh Lonnie, you lost me. You claim that you are a bunch of guys without funding, who have to take outside jobs to actually live. So far sounding like a hobby, not a business. You have reserved a domain name: biofuelstechnologyinc.com But nobody in your brain trust can figure out how to put a basic splash page together. Ya know, HI! We are Biofuel dudes, and then the text you just posted here.

You claim that you can produce a biofuel from low energy components like wood chips. Most biofuels seem to come from perfectly good food crops with high sugar or edible oil content. Not only can you use low energy stuff, but you can get double the energy out of it. And it costs less than light sweet crude. You can make your stuff for less than $40 a barrel?

And you want money?

Ya know, our economy goes from one bubble to the next. The tech bubble, the housing bubble, and the next bubble? Green technologies. Everybody and their brother is going to sink a bunch of speculative money into the next latest greatest green tech. Stock values will go up, executives in sneakers and lumberjack shirts will have massive offices filled with pinball machines. Dragsters will have names like biofuelstechnologies decal-ed to their sides. It's gonna be a helluva ride for a while. But you know what happens to bubbles.

When they tell you that your stock is worth 10 million dollars, sell it and buy something real. AOL buying Time/Warner was probably the smartest move of the tech bubble.

I saw a post like this the other day on another blog from a group of dudes who claimed they had the next great battery. It could run cars 10 times as far for half the weight of nicads or nimhs. They said generally how they were able to do it. Then the physics dudes joined the party. They shredded this guy. They pointed out exactly why his battery concept would not work, and asked him if he had figured out how to get around a specific problem that they all knew about with his design. He left the forum, doubtless looking for a place with more money and less education.

So convince me. How did you and you buddies come up with a process that produces more energy for less money, almost as concentrated as crude, in your garage over the weekend?

Good luck to ya.

2. Hello Hairy,

Thanks for posting to my blog.

It's not that we have to take out side jobs or that this is a hobby as we are a true C-Corporation with shares. We have invested over 2 years of well qualified academic collaboration and research into the Alternate Energy field and have evolved to a system that is based upon liquefication of biomass. Our methods are based, in fact, on collaborative research with universities and in conjunction with various principal investigators in the field of BioCrude oil.

There are a number of methods for producing BioCrude oil to include fast pyrolysis, ablative technologies, liquefication technologies to name a few and you are correct that the energy content is directly dependent upon the biomass feedstock being used. There is a LOT of current academic research in this area and I invite you to do an in-depth literature search on the topic.

With that in mind, the use of woodchip, switchgrass, mulched leaves and then like is a locally annyally renewable feedstock that is found in local communities and is typically discarded but which can be used in our small-scale bioCrude oil generators to produce a crude oil that can be utilized as heating oils. Also, true that these feedstock have a bit lower energy than standard light sweet crude oil (about 34 Megajoules/Kilogram), but the up side is that the feedstock does not compete with food stocks, is mostly free to obtain, and can be use to make the oil here at home instead of importing it.

The higher energy BioCrude oil will be coming from our scaled up plant. This plant will not be using woodchip type feed stocks, but instead will be using selected strains of microalgae that does, in fact, produce a BioCrude oil that is very close to the energy content of light sweet fossile crude oil.

The point of the company is to help reduce our dependence upon foreign oil imports as well as to help local communities become a little more self sustaining in their energy needs as well as go "give back" to the communities to support education, charities, and local needed efforts to help the citizens.

Additionally, our team is composed of scientists that work for different companies and government agencies as our current jobs. We cannot just quit without any additional financing for the company.

As to your quesition on the price per barrel of BioCrude oil that our technology will be able to produce. It is currently calculated at between $30 - $40 per barrel.

We propose to utilize existing fossil infrastructures with BioCrude oil made here in America instead of importing oil and thereby adding stability and security to America.

As alternative energy technologies like better batteries, hydrogen, wind and soloar power come online more and more, our technology can be tuned via various catalyst to make more specific syngas and hydrogen in particular, or other gas combinations as are needed.

The bottom line is that a person can just sit around and complain about the problem while waiting for someone else to solve the problem, or they can make a substantial effort to start solving the problem themselves.

We choose to make a diligent effort to try and solve these problems and is the point of the company and our goals. We do not claim to be the total solution to the problem, but instead to just be a part of the solution as it will take MANY different technologies and efforts to help America come to terms with its energy usage and needs.

You, as a passive observer, can either choose to get involved with our efforts, or perhaps other alternate energy efforts of your choosing, or you may just sit back and make jest of what other are trying to do.

The point is that a person is either part of the problem or part of the soloution and you have to decide which you are, as does each other person viewing this blog.

Thanks again for posting your comments and I hope that my comments are insightful.

Best Regards,
Lonnie

3. The bottom line is that a person can just sit around and complain about the problem while waiting for someone else to solve the problem, or they can make a substantial effort to start solving the problem themselves.

First of all, this isn't "your" blog.

Second, what do you think you're doing? This place isn't a source for venture capital, nor is it a particularly receptive audience for green technology. You've only outlined a fair amount of fluff here, fluff that would set alarm bells off with most reasonable investors. Only a dimwit would take this bait.

Finally, you're nothing but spam. Why is this related to the mad rantings of conservatives, exactly?

Posted by: demo kid on January 7, 2009 07:45 AM
4. Well, I do appologie if you think that this is SPAM or have contempt for our efforts to help America.

The intention was to be public awarness and to try to get the public involved in helping their communities and their nation.

If you disagree then you do not have respond and we are promoting Green Technology as this is what is needed.

We are looking for investment elsewhere but it takes everyone working together to make a better future for all.

There are many particulars that I have omitted on purpose, just to be clear.

Perhaps, this location and audience was not the best choice for our introduction and efforts.

So even if you do not agree with what we are trying to do in the alternate energy world then that is fine with us as we do not want your support anyway.

But the question remains as to what are you doing to make a positive difference in our nation?

At least we are trying which is more than I can say for a lot of people that just blow smoke.

5. OMG, the demo kid and I are in agreement about something? Is the end near? Do I need to seriously rethink my position? Or could it be that this is such a BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS case that anybody from the left or right can lurch into the truth?

Lonnie. Dude. You may be the greatest biofuels engineer in the world, but you are a dumbsh*t. We aren't saying that biofuels are a bad thing, or that your secret sauce isn't wonderful. We are saying that what you are saying and the way you are saying it is STUPID.

Look, you need to stay in the back room with your test tubes, and get yourself a marketing person. You get challenged for a pathetic post with a little sarcasm, and your reaction is to demean your challengers as a "passive observer", "part of the problem", "just blow(ing) smoke", and not "mak(ing) a positive difference."

Woah, that's gonna win friends and influence people.

You made your case in a clumsy and off-putting way. Your work might save the planet, but you will never get the funding you need if you keep talking the way you are. Step away from the keyboard.

Geez, you can't even differentiate between an attack on your work and an attack on your message. It's time to find Vanna so you can buy a clue.

A few years ago I was invited to a "seminar" that was billed as a culturally appropriate advertising venue for a charity I help. It turned out to be a multi-level marketing "opportunity" for some kind of satellite dish sales company with an educational channel. When I left part way through the presentation I was accused of not caring about the education of children. My life is dedicated to saving the lives of children. My lack of interest in his ponzi scheme did not translate into a lack of interest in children. (What was that about my sitting on the sidelines and not helping the planet?)

My lack of interest in giving money to someone who makes as clumsy a sales pitch as you does not translate into a lack of interest in turning goo into fuel oil. I think that's a great idea. But you have provided more than adequate opportunity to doubt your ability to bring about that lofty goal.

Go on craigslist. Pay $25. Post a want ad for a marketing specialist and web designer. You will get a dozen eager skilled puppies willing to work for you for free, just to add a notch on their resume, and to save the planet.

6. You are correct Harry in that I am not a marketing person.

I am a scientist who solves problems and although my implementation method for attempting to get our company into a better position to help other is lacking in proper sales tact, I do know how to make high quality BioCrude oil that can help others and reduce our dependence on foreign oil imports.

That is the fundamental and basis of the goal and mission of Biofuels Technologies Enterprises, Inc. (BTE).

We are alsways looking for good and qualified people, like the marketing and funding people that you so directly mention, to joing our efforts and will get them on board as soon as the opportunity presents itself, but until then, some efforts have to be made to just get the word out in any way that we can.

This was my initial attempt to get the word out in one short way, and am by no means an expert in marketing as you have so pointedly seen, but still, someone has to start trying to do the job until other can take over.

Regarding the website, it is now under development but we have had to change developers recently because of their inability to complete the task properly and are actively seeking a replacement at this time.

I thank you for your comments and suggestions.

Best Regards,
Lonnie Cumberland
