PAULBEARERS, RONBOTS, PAULISTINIANS... PAY ATTENTION!

Former Ron Paul Senior Aide & Bob Barr backer, makes plea to Libertarians to back McCain/Palin

By Eric Dondero

I now believe, two days before Election Day, that this campaign is just too critical to risk on such a strategy, and if Libertarians won't put the liberty of our country ahead of our party ambitions, who else in this country will?

It is now my strong feeling that libertarians nationwide, and most assuredly my fellow Libertarian Party members, should strongly consider casting their votes for Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin. The libertarian movement would be best served with an Obama defeat.

I urge my Libertarian friends, especially those in "swing states" to shift these final days to McCain/Palin. Those States that are especially critical include: New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada.

For these reasons, I am voting for McCain/Palin on Tuesday and I urge all of my Libertarian friends to do the same.

But at this moment in history, we must stand with our conservative friends, against a massive affront upon liberty and freedom itself. I call upon all freedom loving libertarians to consider this situation carefully and stand with me!

Eric Dondero is a US Navy Veteran and graduate of FSU. He is a former Libertarian Party National Committeeman, Founder of the Republican Liberty Caucus and fmr. Senior Aide to US Congressman Ron Paul R-TX. He is now a national Republican Political Consultant based in Houston, Texas.

1. too late, I wrote in "Ron Paul".

2. Chuck Baldwin FTW!

3. He is also a bitter man who has a grudge against libertarianism and Paul for quite some time now.

That he would urge small government supporters to support Big Government McCain is not news.

I voted for Baldwin (a write in for president does not work since you are really electing electors).

4. Eric Dondero has already made his true colors clear - he is no Paul supporter, nor is he an individual I would ever trust again.

McCain is no friend of mine, nor is Obama. I voted Barr. I would have wrote in Ron Paul but Washington State law would not have counted my vote at all had I done so.

5. @3 I understand how the electoral college works. I wrote in Ron Paul to soothe my conscience.

I would have wrote in Ron Paul but Washington State law would not have counted my vote at all had I done so.

This is simply not true. Your write in vote will probably never be reflected in statistics about the presidential race because of the minimum threshold stuff, but the rest of your ballot would be counted. Writing in a vote for President is perfectly legal and does not disqualify your ballot.

6. I meant my vote for President; if he's not registered as a candidate they don't count the write in at all. I'm paraphrasing the RCW here, but in general this is accurate.

7. Blindman... on the ballot or not... you voted for the BEST man for the job! Kudos!

8. Sorry, Rags, but your plea to the Paulistas seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

I can't believe that even in their blind support for Ron Paul they can't see the difference between the two main candidates. And if so, they have to realize the damage the government will do with one party rule- like in this state.

9. I see a huge difference between the two main candidates... a huge difference between "their" political ideology and mine. Correct me if I'm wrong, weren't both in favor of the bailout!? Living in a 'blue' state, regardless of my vote, 11 electoral votes will be cast for Obama, so I'm taking this chance to communicate my distaste. Had I lived in a swing state, my vote would have required much more discernment.
Life under a president Obama will be terrifying and I certainly hope McCain bests Obama today... but not as much as I hope our party and it's candidates return to our conservative roots.

I hope and pray that (the GOP party elite will allow) Sarah Palin to continue to lead and energize the conservative base! Frankly, I'm tired of calls for blind party loyalty as the party strays further and further to the left.

10. Nice try, Ragnar. Eric Dondero has been holding a Ron Paul hatefest for a few years now. He knows how to make a nice headline though. Also, note that he doesn't encourage Washington voters to vote McCain/Palin. But most aren't listening to him anyway.

"I hope and pray that (the GOP party elite will allow) Sarah Palin to continue to lead and energize the conservative base!"

Sorry, but Palin disqualified herself when she came out in support of the one-man-one-woman constitutional amendment.

Really? Tell that to the voters of Florida and California.
