The TRUTH SQUAD -- Examining Roger Goodman's Claims

We've added a new feature to our web site at www.tobynixon.com. The Truth Squad will take a careful look at the claims Roger Goodman makes in his campaign ads, and fill in the facts he omits.

In its initial report, The Truth Squad examines these claims:

* Goodman's claim to have gotten "results" on early childhood education (it turns out that his bill is just another study);
* his claim to have "done something" about drunk driving (he makes it possible for convicted drunk drivers to get a driver license again immediately); and
* his claim that Democrats' "rainy day fund" constituted "holding back government spending" (while they increased state spending by 33% over the last four years, we're looking at a $3.2 BILLION budget shortfall in 2009-2011, and the rainy day fund had been sponsored by Republicans for years before the Democrats claimed credit for the idea).

Check The Truth Squad as the campaign progresses for more facts to equip you when talking about the 45th District legislative races with your friends and neighbors - and let us know if you see any more Goodman ads with outrageous claims that need examination!
