Obama's Socialism Unmasked

Michelle Malkin has the story along with links to the audio of Senator Obama on a Chicago Public radio program back in 2001 talking not only about redistribution of wealth, but also how we must "break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution". Here is the transcript of the Chicago Public radio show:

If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court. I think where it succeeded was to invest formal rights in previously dispossessed people, so that now I would have the right to vote. I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order as long as I could pay for it I'd be o.k. But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical. It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can't do to you. Says what the Federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf, and that hasn't shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that.

Socialism....It's what were in store for if Obama is elected!

1. I sent the link to the video and the excerpted transcript to almost everyone I know, regardless of what I know about their politics. It has long been clear that Obama dreams of a socialist America. His upbringing, his political mentorship under Bill Ayers, his support for Odinga, his membership in the New Party (now confirmed; thanks endangered right-wing bloggers!) a hard left socialist party, his economic plan, the nuts and bolts of the work he did on "educational reform" (the New Math Textbook, after Woods Fund, "If Timmy's Dad makes $5,000 per month, but his wealthy employer cuts his pay by 50% to keep profits high, how many Christmas presents are missing from under the tree?"), and, of course, his economic truth-tellin at the feet of Joe the Plumber. Our media and culture have forced us to become nearsighted to the point that we no longer possess the analytical skills to even determine cause and effect with certainty, much less analyze the Big Picture.

Send this video to EVERYONE you know. So what if it starts arguments. If you want feel that our country and way of life are worth fighting for... be prepared to get into a few arguments! Happy warriors fight the good fight because it must be fought.
