This is part one of a series, which will continue until election day, documenting all the lies and smears Geoff Simpson is selling the 47th district voters in a desperate attempt not to lose his job.
Last Saturday, Geoff Simpson sent a mailing to most people in the 47th district accusing his opponent, Mark Hargrove, of taking a campaign contribution from a supposed sex offender.
This is either an outright lie or Simpson's campaign has time to do background checks on Hargrove's 264 individual campaign contributors. (Interesting aside: Simpson only has 163 donors; shouldn't a representative of the people get a little more support from his people?) Either way, Simpson is the 8-year incumbent state representative. If he had a solid list of accomplishments, he would be talking about those. Instead, he is smearing the character of a very upstanding man.
Simpson lost the primary (in fact, over 60% of the district he supposedly represents voted AGAINST him) in August (he was one of only two incumbents who did not win their primary; the other was this guy). He must know that he doesn't have a good record to run on, so he is resorting to personal smears against an opponent in a desperate attempt to hang on to his seat.

Well actually not. The concept of hurting a child (or beating one's wife) is so distant to Mark's thinking that he never would have considered it.
I know Geoff and his Capitol Hill based money boys, do nothing but think about that sort of stuff and I am sure stay "on top of it" as it were.
The real Mark Hargrove is the straightest of straight arrows and the squeakiest clean of the clean. He does not lie, cheat, smoke, drink, or swear. He is a law abiding citizen who has an excellent credit rating pays his bills and his taxes on time and in full. He has never been hauled off to jail for attacking anyone, much less someone in his own family. **None of those statements can be said for Simpson**
Having nothing legitimate to point at, Simpson and his minions like "readit&weep" reach deep in the slime of the sewers of their own disturbed minds to dream stuff up. Forget it. The voters of the 47th are not buying that yet again.
