DRUDGE: It's Biden

Anyone who has watched any major cable news network or listened to talk radio in the last two days has most likely been inundated with one question: who will Obama's veep pick be?

Well, apparently someone's let the cat out of the bag (or maybe the AP ripped it out themselves), and the latest Drudge headline says it's Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware. Here's the entire AP article, via Breitbart.com:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware is Barack Obama's pick as vice presidential running mate, The Associated Press has learned. Biden, 65, is a veteran of more than three decades in the Senate, and one of his party's leading experts on foreign policy, an area in which polls indicate Obama needs help in his race against Republican rival John McCain.

The official who spoke did so on condition of anonymity, saying they did not want to pre-empt a text-message announcement the Obama campaign promised for Saturday morning.

Hrm. Well, the NY Times posted a longer article with the title, "Field Narrows for Obama's Running Mate", but in the first paragraph also deduced that Sen. Biden is Obama's choice:

Senator Barack Obama informed two of his top three vice-presidential prospects Friday night that he would not be choosing them, Democratic officials said, encouraging a consensus within the party that he had settled on Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware.

My sister just noted that Obama cleverly made his pick on a Friday (I'm not sure if this is tradition, or what) when all the conservative talk-show hosts are off the air, hard at work preparing for next week's Democratic Convention in Denver, CO.

UPDATE: CNN posted an article 13 minutes ago also affirming that Biden's the one. Of course, who thought that the long-awaited text messages to Obama's supporters would arrive before someone leaked the pick?

As a humorous side note, honestly, the first thing I thought of when I saw the Drudge headline was this RedStateUpdate musical parody farewell to Biden and Dodd after the Iowa Caucuses way back in January. Have a laugh:

DISCLAIMER: Some bad language.
