GROUP PLANNED TO FIRE BOMB REPUBLICAN CONVENTION AND KIDNAP DELEGATES! In what may turn out to be the biggest scandal in politics this year, local police with help from the FBI and the US Secret Service raided the headquarters of a group that had planned everything from kidnapping Republican Delegates to fire bombing the convention itself. This violent and extremist, anarchist group may have connections to the far left producers of the independent news program "Democracy Now". This blogger called... [read more]

Palin Can Put The Experience Issue To Rest
by MyTwoCentsWorth, 01:16 AM, 4 Comments
Governor Sarah Palin has a unique opportunity to use and modify the old Ronald Reagan answer that put an abrupt halt to the issue concerning his age when running for a second term against Walter Mondale in 84. The Press: Governor Palin, Do you believe the lack of experience is an important issue for voters to consider this November? "Absolutely. I realize the voters want some assurance that those in charge have some history when it comes to creating and... [read more]

The Palin Pick: Cutting Through the Spin
by Eukardios, 11:33 AM, 11 Comments
One day after the announcement of John McCain's running mate, the pundit class has already begun to spin the choice of Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska, in a way that's favorable to Barak Obama. In doing so, they've made a number of claims about McCain's motives that I think are simply untrue. Lets take a look at some of them: 1. The Experience Meme: Almost across the board, commentators have agreed that the choice of Sarah Palin makes it difficult,... [read more]

A Comparison Of Two Presidential Candidates
by TrueSoldier, 06:49 AM, 1 Comments
Finally back from vacation and once again all caught up at work (always the worst part of vacations is all the catching up you have to do), I figured it was about time I get back to blogging. I received the following email from Doug Kotrba, I know Doug from Vets for Dino. It is a great side by side comparison of both the Presidential Candidates (let's face it the third party candidates don't really stand a chance). Now I... [read more]

Obama Must Have Taken The Same Class I Took
by MicheleDeRouis, 07:16 PM, 0 Comments
While standing in line at the local Safeway today, I stared at a newspaper photo of Barack Obama's big white stage on which he gave his acceptance speech at Invesco Field in Denver. And all of a sudden, I remembered a college instructor's words to me, and they describe the Obama campaign perfectly. It was in a photojournalism class at UW, and one day the instructor only half-jokingly advised: "Remember the rule we have in this business, whatever photo you've... [read more]

IT'S PALIN!
by Cydney, 11:34 AM, 0 Comments
Talk about waking up to a surprise this morning--and a pleasant one at that: Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is the GOP VP pick for Sen. John McCain. I was sure it was going to be Pawlenty--I had secretly hoped for Palin or Huckabee, but I hadn't heard Palin's name thrown around all that much recently. I knew McCain was not stupid and would not pick Romney or Ridge, but Palin...I can't even express in words my excitement at the pick.... [read more]

Thoughts on Palin as VP choice.
by Hinton, 10:49 AM, 0 Comments
Many, many pros on this... and very few cons... but there are cons, and we must be mindful of them, because the fringe left infesting us will never let us forget them. Among the other pros is the immediate problem Palin as VP becomes to Oh? SHE is the gender that O should have picked, Hillary notwithstanding. Palin as VP pick will be difficult for O to attack because she is a she, and he already has a huge gender... [read more]

GOP Makes Best Choice for VP of Past 40 Years
by thesenator2012, 09:01 AM, 2 Comments
It will take some time to fully research her record to find potential lightning-rod issues, but at the onset it appears as though Sarah Palin is a silver bullet choice as McCain's VP. Her genuine working class credentials will appeal to the heartland and she's a real conservative who has actually done with Alaska what McCain wants to do for the country. Obama's convention bump is completely pre-empted. All of the soul-points in the Obama campaign that have been resonating... [read more]

Barack Obama - The Wall Drug of Politics
by Seabecker, 10:08 PM, 2 Comments
If you have ever traveled Interstate 90 across South Dakota, you are dreadfully aware of Wall Drug. Located in the little town of Wall, SD, Wall Drug epitomizes the art of self-promotion. From Chicago to Coeur d'Alene, an un-ending string of road signs tell you just how far it is to that free drink of ice water at Wall Drug. By the time you reach Wall, you just absolutely have to stop to see what all that hoopla was about.... [read more]

Obama and Offshore Drilling
by Palouse123, 07:58 AM, 0 Comments
Obama has already flip flopped on the offshore drilling issue, but Democrats as a whole, have not. This quote by Obama is pretty reflective of Democrats on the issue. Their point is that it won't have a substantive effect on oil prices. "[O]pening our coastlines to offshore drilling would take at least a decade to produce any oil at all, and the effect on gasoline prices would be negligible at best since America only has three percent of the world's... Engine of prosperity
by RodVanMechelen, 07:16 PM, 2 Comments
Every community has problems, some more than others. But when one or a few of the 562 recognized Indian tribes has problems, the op-ed columns and talk shows are full of generalizations about "the Indians." Bad news sells. "If it bleeds, it leads," and this is as true on the right as it is on the left. So it's no surprise that tribal success stories are generally ignored. Particularly when they run counter to cherished myths. The Tulalip Tribes are... [read more]

As another Boeing strike looms, I wonder: Does Boeing want the strike?
by guitarplayr, 01:21 AM, 1 Comments
Washington has a plethora of industry, but there are two names that pretty much come to people's minds when they think of the state: Boeing and Microsoft. I have worked for both, and while I have mentioned my high tech industry experiences, I don't talk about Boeing much. Directive 10-289 for Indie Businesses What is this real-life version of Directive 10-289, you ask? It has the very Orwellian tag of the "FDA Globalization Act of 2008." In a nutshell, this shining socialistic example of government interference would force all cosmetic/personal care businesses to pay the federal government an annual $2,000 "registration fee" -- for which neither the business owner nor consumer derive any benefit -- in addition to the accompanying bureaucratic time-suck of extra paperwork to fill out... And, of course, soon subscription prices will take off as well, REALLY putting it into the stratosphere. Had It with Seattle - Move East
by warrenpeterson, 08:58 PM, 4 Comments
I attended my high school reunion in Warren, Ohio last weekend. Once a vibrant steel town, home of a GM assembly plant and several other long gone manufacturing companies and a frequently nationally ranked high school football team, it now suffers from the rust belt economy. But if you don't have to live in Seattle, consider this. A three bedroom, two bath colonial near the Trumbull County Golf and County Club, probably $800,000 in Seattle, can be yours for $159,000... Who killed our kids?
by 1776forgoodmen, 09:17 AM, 1 Comments
One aspect of corrosive liberalism that gets little attention is what it has done to the relationships between parents and their children. We get a reams of material on WASL, class sizes, student sloth, and other lame excuses for expanding NEA/WEA's obscene, seditious taxing power, but nothing is mentioned about how the educational system has poisoned the parent-child relationship. Many older parents I know are now confronted with the results of decades of classroom-fostered rebellion against their values, their generation,... [read more]
