Steve Beren Responds to McDermott's "Gas Stamps" Bill
In a Red County Washington blog exclusive, Republican congressional candidate Steve Beren responds to Jim McDermott's proposed "gas stamps" legislation. McDermott's proposed bill claims to be a response to rising gas prices, and a way to help poor people. But Steve Beren argues that it would only make the situation worse, that McDermott's proposal does nothing either to reduce gas prices or to help lift people out of poverty.
Steve Beren is promoting a comprehensive energy plan - a "21st Century Energy Project" to reduce energy costs and develop the energy sources of the future. In addition, Beren offers a fiscal policy that will create jobs, reduce poverty, and eliminate taxes for the lowest income Americans.
