CRACKPOT BRAINERD GOES DOWN IN FLAMES
Washington State Court of Appeals has apparently trashed the earlier trial court decision concerning property rights vis a vies the King County Critical Areas Ordinances. The Pacific Legal Foundation ran with this appeal and won. As soon as the decision is released you will read about it first here! Again the Circuit Court today has set aside an earlier verdict which now means that Property Owners have won against King County's Boss Sims and the Environmental Radical PAUL BRAINERD (FUTUREWISE) in an appeal of the Due Process portion of King County Critical Areas Ordinance having to do with surface ground modifications. When the CAO was passed it was the worst intrusion of government on private property owner's rights in US history!

WHO IS PAUL BRAINERD?
Note to readers: I am receiving some questions about who Paul Brainerd is. Well, HE IS FUTUREWISE http://www.futurewise.org/
This is the radical, nutcase, environmental group of crackpots who were responsible for the CAO or Critical Areas Ordinances in King County. Futurewise has a permanent person sitting next to the green crazy Democrats every King County Council Meeting. The money for this group of nincompoops comes from Brainerd, a internet/graphics multi-millionaire, who is crazy as a 7 dollar socialist! He also controls the Brainerd Foundation http://www.brainerd.org/ that pays for any study it wants from the University of Washington through control of grants, particularly in the bogus area of Global Warming or Climate Change. What does Brainerd want to do with YOU: take away your cars and trucks, put you in a concrete condo downtown, take away your guns, put you to work for the government, have you ride to work on light rail, have you wear second hand clothing and control every aspect of your lives ALL FOR MOTHER EARTH. He is part of Washington State's SHADOW GREEN GOVERNMENT that controls a large number of politicians INCLUDING Governor Gargoyle and the Department of Ecology.
VETS TO SLAM OBAMA WITH NATIONAL AD CAMPAIGN
Vets for Freedom is about to launch a multi-million dollar ad campaign to support John McCain and to educate voters about Barack Obama, who is widely regarded as a unpatriotic leftwing politician and the last politician whom they want to be COMMANDER IN CHIEF.
Here is what they have to say about themselves:
Vets for Freedom is a nonpartisan organization established by combat veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Our mission is to educate the American public about the importance of achieving success in these conflicts by applying our first-hand knowledge to issues of American strategy and tactics in Iraq.
We support policymakers from both sides of the aisle who have stood behind our great generation of American warriors on the battlefield, and who have put long-term national security before short-term partisan political gain.
Vets for Freedom is the largest Iraq and Afghanistan veterans organization in America.
Vets for Freedom PAC is a Political Action Committee whose mission is to help candidates--mostly combat veterans--who believe in achieving success in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the overall War on Terrorism, get elected to the United States Congress and other Federal positions.
Established by combat veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on November 11, 2007, Veterans Day, VFFPAC will endorse and offer extended support through financial contributions and media assistance to Republicans, Democrats, and Independents who support victory in the Global War on Terrorism. Bottom Line: VFFPAC will support those who support victory -- that is our only litmus test.

EVERETT HERALD CONTINUES TO SUPPORT CRIMINAL CANDIDATE
Today's Herald has another in a series of ridiculous soft ball pieces promoting the US 2 Safety Coalition, Herald reporter Yoshiaki Nohara puts up another free political ad for the former Sultan Police Chief and convicted criminal Fred Walser who is still running for the State Senate. This so-called safety coalition is suspected of being a group of Monroe and Sultan Democrats paying for the Fred Walser for Senate campaign AND using the coalition as a front.
If you remember, According to his plea agreement, former Sultan Police Chief Fred Walser was sentenced to one year in jail, a year of probation, a $500 fine, and an additional $20K in restitution to the City of Sultan.
There is a misperception out there that he was only sentenced to community service. The fact is that all but 30 days of the one-year jail sentence were suspended, and the 30 remaining days were converted to 8-hour-per day community service, for a total of 240 hours. And the Washington State Democratic Party has sent Fred $10,000 to help pay his fine and thus try and excuse his behavior. None of this was ever mentioned in the Herald or by Nohara, rumored to be a robot for the Snohomish County Democratic Party.
No wonder this Washington Post newspaper continues to lose circulation. You can read it here (warning hold your nose, it stinks): http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20080705/NEWS01/205647919#U.S..2.Safety.Coalition.promises.to.support.scholarship.effort
MAJOR SHAKEUP IN THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN!
McCain and his chief lieutenants shook up his campaign organization last Wednesday after meeting with key Republican leadership. The problem that was brought home to McCain and his staff was the seemingly rudderless direction to his campaign. The Obama campaign having learned what happened to Kerry and Gore by not being quick to respond to attacks, have set up a mechanism that is taking the wind out of the McCain advantage: Barack's radical comments and total lack of experience doing ANYTHING!
The new leader of the campaign is Steve Schmidt, a veteran of President Bush's 2004 reelection team, who will take control of and tighten the day-to-day operations. Schmidt was one of the whiz kids with the Karl Rove group and is still tightly connected to Rove, who will advise on the campaign. Schmidt also engineered the 2006 reelection campaign of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
What's remarkable about this turnaround is the fact that FINALLY someone was able to get through to the often hard headed McCain and explain that unless they can get off the dime and move the campaign aggressively forward, he will lose in November.
Insiders tell this BLOGGER that Karl Rove has done some private polling for McCain and has secretly told his staff that Obama and the Democrats HAVE PEAKED TO EARLY IN THE CAMPAIGN and are very vulnerable on the issues of taxes and energy.
FIRST OF THE MAJOR NEWSPAPERS TAKES A DIVE!
LA Times to cut 250 positions, merge print and online departments, print 15 percent less pages, still no word from the Washington Post organization.
The Los Angeles Times plans to cut 250 positions, including 150 jobs in the print and online news departments, amid a continuing industrywide slump in ad sales, the paper's editor said Wednesday.
The decline in advertising, fueled by a weak real estate market, has boosted the copy-to-ads ratio above the industry target of 50-50, giving readers more stories than they can digest, while the paper competes for attention with the Internet and TV, editor Russ Stanton said.
As a result, the paper will undergo a makeover by the fall that will cut pages by 15 percent per week, eliminate some sections and trim story length, Stanton said.
"The number one reason that people cancel the L.A. Times is, they tell us, they don't have enough time to read the paper that we give them every day," Stanton said. "We're going to be more picky about the stories we choose to write long and a lot more picky about the ones we write shorter."
The Web and print departments will be merged into one operation with a single budget, and the company will also refocus on being more versatile, he said.
"We're great about putting out a paper; we're getting a lot better at putting up a Web site," he said. "We're not very good on TV or radio, and we don't do mobile at all. We need to do all of those things going forward."
The move followed an announcement last week that the paper's parent, Tribune Co., is exploring the sale of its headquarters in Chicago and the building in downtown Los Angeles that houses the Times.
A half-dozen major newspapers announced layoffs last week totaling about 900 jobs.
Also Wednesday, Journal Sentinel Inc. said it would cut about 10 percent of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's 1,300 full-time employees, and Media General Inc. said it would lay off 21 newsroom employees at The Tampa Tribune by early fall as part of a one-fifth cut in its news staff.
Stanton declined to say which sections would be cut, but he said the A section, containing foreign, national and top local stories, will get larger.
Last month, the paper said it would also stop publishing its money-losing monthly magazine using editorial staff. A new magazine is planned to launch as early as August with other staff.
The most recent cuts were made assuming the economy would stabilize early next year and were designed to help the paper "get ahead of the change that's roiling the entire industry," said Times Publisher David Hiller.
The combined moves "should make a significant contribution toward offsetting the revenue declines."
"It won't fully offset them, but it'll help," Hiller said.
The Times' weekday circulation fell 5.1 percent from a year earlier to 773,884 in March, while the Sunday edition fell 6.1 percent to 1.1 million, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations. That ranked it fourth and second in the nation, respectively.
The editorial staff of 876 people will shrink by about 17 percent to more than 700 people by Labor Day. Jobs also will be eliminated in circulation, marketing and advertising, bringing total employment to about 3,000 at the Times, local weekly papers, the Spanish-language daily Hoy and latimes.com.
"These moves will be difficult and painful," Stanton said in a memo to staff. "But it is absolutely crucial that as we move through this process, we must maintain our ambition and our determination to produce the highest-quality journalism in print and online, every day."
Hiller did not provide details on the severance terms to be offered but said he expected they would be similar to earlier staff buyouts, including payment equivalent to two weeks' salary for every year of service, up to 52 weeks.
The paper cut 100 jobs, including at least 40 in the newsroom, in February. Continuing reductions have pared the Times' news staff from its 2001 level of nearly 1,200.
Tribune Co. said in May that its first-quarter advertising revenue declined 15 percent, contributing to an 11 percent drop in operating revenues from its publishing division, to $823 million from $926 million a year earlier.
That unit, which consists of the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, Newsday and other newspapers, saw operating profit decline 74 percent to $37 million. While employees at the Washington Post combine are awaiting some very bad news, local Everett Herald reporters have their resumes on the street, as we speak.

BRAINERD'S THREE STOOGIES 'JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS'?
In what appears to be the most radical anti-development action ever taken in the State of Washington, the Snohomish County councilmen bought and paid by Seattle environmental crackpot Paul Brainerd and his supporters: Somers, Cooper and Sullivan are moving to place so many restrictions on ANY development outside of the Urban Growth Areas (cities) that the long term impact will have devastating effects on the cost of housing, crime, and the economy of Snohomish County.
Paul Brainerd, the Seattle boss of Futurewise and the Thousand Friends of Washington, Oregon, has issued orders that hearings be held in order that some justification can be made for this radical land use addition to what is nominally called the UDC or universal development codes. (Futurewise and the Pilchuck Audubon Society stooges and paid performers will can stack the hearings so you can't speak or you will be shouted down!)
As one long term resident of Snohomish County said recently, "Under the current Growth Management Rules about 10% of expected population growth is programmed to result in that amount of development in rural areas with the remainder inside the UGA. What they intend to do is to pile on some many onerous and extreme regulations on ANY development in rural areas as to effectively stop all development there. This will mean more expensive housing, hirer property taxes, lower rural land values, and LESS housing available. Look at all the greenhouse gases we'll stop producing and how much easier it will be to control everyone. Eventually they want to take away your cars and force you into mass transit. When he ran for election many of us had no idea how radical Dave Somers really was, now we know!"
Here is Paul Brainerd's vision of the future of Snohomish County:

Anti-Semtic views of Ron Paul and his supporters:
Paul's anti-globalist, anti-government campaign for the Republican presidential nomination has become a magnet in neo-Nazi networks, pulling in activists and supporters from the fringe white nationalist community where anti-Semitism, anti-black and anti-immigrant views are commonplace.
In many of his newsletters, Paul aimed criticism at the Israeli government's U.S. lobbying efforts...Stating that lobbying groups who seek special favors and handouts are evil, Paul wrote, ""By far the most powerful lobby in Washington of the bad sort is the Israeli government" and that the goal of the Zionist movement is to stifle criticism.
Such web-based organizations as Stormfront (motto: "White Pride, World Wide"), Vanguard News Network ("No Jews. Just Right.") and the Nationalist Coalition ("working to create the relationships that will lay the foundation for the White community that is necessary to our survival") have become sources of support for Paul's failed bid for the Republican nomination, and in some cases have set up separate Ron Paul groups to contribute money to his campaign.
David Duke commented recently about Ron Paul's positions on the American Jewish movement and Israel: "How can anyone run for President of the United States and not mention the overwhelming power of the Israeli-First, Jewish extremists in American politics and media?"
The Anti-Defamation League asked Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul to distance himself from extremist groups early in his campaign and Paul refused. Paul came under fire for the support his campaign has enjoyed from leading white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups. His campaign accepted a donation from Don Black, the owner of the white supremacist Web site Stormfront. Sites for several extremist groups also feature prominent links supporting Paul's candidacy.
Overall folks I just have to report to you that this guy looks and sounds like a big crackpot, radical Libertarian and NOT A REPUBLICAN!
NEW POLL SHOCKS DEMOCRATS!
Most Americans do not believe the U.S. government needs more tax revenue and well over half say all tax increases should be subject to voter approval.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 52% of voters say the federal government does not need additional tax revenue for important national programs such as highway repairs and health care reform.
At the same time, 57% think all tax increases should be approved first by voters. Only 30% disagree with this approach. Many states already provide that protection for voters.
For the two presidential candidates, however, the survey's overall findings appear to suggest that neither has a huge edge on the tax issue. While Republican John McCain has proposed maintaining the Bush tax cuts and cutting in other areas, his Democratic rival Barack Obama has proposed raising taxes on those earning more than $250,000 a year.
A plurality (48%) say they would vote for a candidate who said he would raise taxes only on the rich, while only 37% would vote for a candidate opposed to all tax increases. Sixteen percent (16%) are undecided.
A separate survey found that 51% believe Obama will raise taxes if elected as opposed to 33% who believe that of a President McCain.
In the latest survey, 47% of Democrats say new tax revenues are needed while only 17% of Republicans agree. A whopping 73% of GOP voters say more taxes are not needed and 34% of Democrats agree with them. Fifty-six percent (56%) of unaffiliated voters say the government does not need more tax revenue, but 32% disagree.
Fifty-six percent (56%) of black voters as opposed to 33% of whites say the government needs more tax income.
Voters across virtually all income groups oppose additional taxes.
Voters' responses also parallel the views of their party's presidential candidate. Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Republicans favor a candidate who opposes all tax increases, while a virtually identical 66% of Democrats like a candidate who will raise taxes only on the rich.
While 67% of Republicans also think voter approval should be necessary for all tax increases, only 53% of Democrats and 50% of unaffiliated voters agree.
Sixty-four percent (64%) of voters say Americans pay more than 25% of their income in local, state and federal taxes, but only a plurality of 43% think the government should be required to provide a taxpayer with an annual report showing how much he or she has paid.

GEE, I WONDER WHAT OBAMA WANTS TO DO NOW?
FUND MANAGERS AND WALL STREET WORRIED ABOUT OBAMA!
Bill Gross, the bond-fund-manager superstar, not only thinks Barack Obama will be elected president, but that the nation's budget deficit, now nearly $500 billion, will explode to $1 trillion. Gross, a registered Republican, wrote an open letter to Obama on the Web site of PIMCO, where Gross is co-chief investment officer. "You have inherited a mess," Gross writes.
"What do I think you should do as the new president to rectify this mess? All I know is that any solution will come with a high price tag."
Higher taxes on the wealthy and oil companies won't make up for the additional spending that Obama will have to approve to pull the economy out of recession, Gross argues.
"So you're gonna do the tax thing [relief for the middle/lower class], Mr. President, and throw in some form of universal healthcare to boot that your buddy Hillary will help spearhead," Gross writes.
"In addition, you'll need to provide some immediate relief to homeowners in the form of FHA subsidies and low mortgage rate loans... By January, home prices will be down another 10 percent or so and our Japanese-style property deflation will be in full stride."
Put that all together, and you get a massive budget deficit, according to Gross. "You'll have your tax bill and your healthcare bill and your housing fix, and somehow it'll all be paid for by wealthy hedge fund managers, oil companies or a robust economy," he writes.
"Uh, I don't think so, Mr. President. That's where the 'yes we can' morphs into 'no we can't.' Not that you won't accomplish most of that. It's just that you won't be able to pay for it, and it's better to admit it now."
To some extent, the next president will be helpless, Gross maintains. "While the Republicans will blame you for years and label you 'Trillion Dollar Obama' in future campaigns, there is in fact not much that you or another president can do," he writes.
"You've inherited an asset-based economy whose well has been pumped nearly dry with lower and lower interest rates and lender of last resort liquidity provisions that have managed to support Ponzi-style prosperity in recent years."
As the economy needs $500 billion of stimulus, and the budget deficit already totals almost $500 billion, that leaves a deficit of $1 trillion, probably by 2011, Gross says.
To be sure, that still would leave us in better shape than Japan in the 1990s, he points out. The $1 trillion deficit would amount to about 6 percent of GDP, which pales next to the 10 percent figure in Japan in 1998. But the result won't be pretty for investors, Gross says. Once the economy recovers, inflation will rise, "as the government bonds acquired during the recession are transformed once again into risk bearing assets and high levels of investment," he writes.
"That suggests that intermediate and long-term yields on government bonds have already bottomed and will gradually rise throughout your first, and perhaps second, administration. Your term will not go down in history as investor friendly."

DARCY RUNNING OUT OF MONEY, STEP IN: MOVE ON DOT ORG
Here is their announcement: Tuesday morning, Darcy Burner's home near Carnation was destroyed by a fire. Thankfully, Darcy and her family escaped the fire unharmed, but they lost their home and everything in it.
Darcy is a progressive hero who's running for Congress in Washington's 8th Congressional District. She came within a hair of winning this Republican seat in 2006. Since then she's led the charge to develop "The Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq," which more than 50 other congressional candidates and military leaders have signed on to.
The morning after the fire, Darcy could be seen on the local news, wearing the "End War" t-shirt she'd been sleeping in when she fled her burning house. Here's what she told the reporters: "We have a bit to sort out today. And then we'll get back to trying to change the direction of the country."
Darcy Burner is exactly the kind of fighting progressive leader we need in Congress. She's in a rough spot right now--we can help make sure her campaign stays on track while she deals with this crisis. Please donate what you can to Darcy's campaign right now.
This was sent out NATIONALLY by the Move On morons on Wednesday.

OBAMA'S NEW NATIONAL ANTHEM?
DENVER Mayor John Hickenlooper's annual State of the City address may get more attention for what wasn't included than what was.
At the start of the event Tuesday morning, City Council President Michael Hancock introduced singer Rene Marie to perform the national anthem.
Instead, she performed the song "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," which is also known as the "black national anthem."
When she finished, the audience responded with mild applause. The national anthem was never performed.
Governor Bill Ritter (D-Colorado) discussed the incident on The Mike Rosen Show on 850 KOA on Wednesday morning, calling it "inappropriate."
"I don't think it's fair artistic expression," said Ritter.
Ritter went on to say he felt Marie's actions were "wrong" and "outside the bounds. It certainly is operating as a distraction".
Marie told 9NEWS she kept her plans to switch songs quiet until the very last moment. She says only she, her husband and a friend knew she was going to sing something other than the "Star-Spangled Banner."
She says she wanted to express her love of her country by mixing the lyrics of "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" with the melody of the "Star-Spangled Banner."
"When I decided to sing my version, what was going on in my head was: 'I want to express how I feel about living in the United States, as a black woman, as a black person,'" said Marie.
Hickenlooper's staff picked Marie to sing the national anthem. The mayor says he believes Marie did not intend to offend anyone or make a political statement.
When asked if he was offended, Hickenlooper said, "You know I was more confused and I think I was more - what I was, was disappointed and confused and that's why I wanted to talk to her."
"Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" was written as a poem by James Weldon Johnson in 1899 and set to music by his brother in 1900.
City Councilman Charlie Brown took to talk radio Tuesday afternoon to criticize the absence of the national anthem at the State of the City proceedings.
"There is no substitute for the national anthem, period," Brown said. "And that's what really bothered me. You know when we fly the flag, the American flag, it's always the highest flag, as it should be. And that didn't come across today, that didn't happen today."
In hindsight, both Brown and Hickenlooper say they should have stopped Marie or began singing themselves.
Literally tens of thousands of people are protesting the singing with phone calls, e-mails, calls to the local media. One reporter said, "I have never seen such negative reaction to anything like this in my life. People are calling our TV station and screaming at the operators!"
