Attention Republicans: Watch Out!
There is a real dog-fight going on in Republican circles in Spokane right now. Kevin Parker and Melvin Lindauer are running an expensive primary to decide who will take on Rep. Don Barlow (D) in the battle to win the State Legislative seat, 6th District, Position 1.
In trying to make up my mind who I want to support, I decided to do a little google search on both candidates to see if anything interesting would pop up. Low and behold, for full public disclosure, there is some information about Lindauer that could prove damning. If you go to the Washington State Court System website, http://dw.courts.wa.gov (or google the address) and type in Lindauer's name you will see he has been involved in some nasty lawsuits. What's worse, when you enter in his wife Carolyn's name, her name appears in even more! Between the two Lindauer's, they have been involved in 15 damning lawsuits. These range from a contract breach over the acquisition of their business: Optic One Eye Center, to personal injury, to judgement creditor! Also, one of Lindauer's key financial supporters-his brother Damien has also been the defendant in 7 lawsuits! Lindauer is also rumored to have had several high profile medical and business complaints filed against him with the state of Washington.
Lindauer's baggage doesn't bode well for a party trying to distance itself from some of the scandals to hit Republicans nationally. If Lindauer wins the primary, this will spell disaster for any Republican hopes of retaking this seat from Democrats in the Fall. All they will need to do is air out his dirty laundry on repeat and the election is over with Barlow the winner. If Barlow wins again, Dems could conceivably sweep what has always been a Republican stronghold (the 6th District) into a strong Democratic district led by Chris Marr instead.
Attention Spokane Republicans: Watch Out for Lindauer!

1. This unidentified so-called "Spokane Republican" is out of line in his/her allegations, and obviously has interests beyond support of the Republican party. If your interest is truly candidate research, I invite you and anyone else wanting to know about me, to call me. My number is 509-863-2400.
To set the record straight:
1. I have no personal judgments against me.
2. My wife has no personal judgments against her.
3. A corporation, for which I am President, incurred 1 judgment several years ago. This was a money-claimed-owed dispute. I disagreed with the decision of the court, but the corporation did not appeal and the judgment was paid. I take my obligations very seriously.
4. I have never been the subject of any professional, medical, or business complaint that was ever found to have any merit.
5. There have not been 15 lawsuits.
Mel Lindauer
2. Lindauer, what bothers me about you is that you and your campaign are disingenuous at best and hypocritical at worst. Your campaign seems to run on the sole premise that you are some how morally superior to your three opponents. Look at your website for evidence. You attack your three opponents for being opportunists and running on impure motives and not disclosing everything in their backgrounds. Your poll questions are an absolute sham. Seriously, do you think anyone believes your polls are without bias or manufactured results? You give off the air that you have nothing to hide and your past is clean. By not disclosing your various lawsuits, whatever their outcomes, you are being dishonest with voters, claiming to be morally superior to your opponents, yet you have these black marks in your past. If you really have nothing to hide, why don't you post all of the lawsuits you and your wife have been listed in in the form of PDF files on your website for all to see? If there have not been 15 lawsuits, how many have there been? What is a "Judgment Creditor" from case #01-9-04610-1 listing your wife? Could you please offer explanations for them? Also, since one of your lawsuits regards your acquisition or a contract regarding your business, you and your wife should release your tax statements for 1992-1995 as well.
All I'm saying is its ridiculous for you to dig through all three of your opponents backgrounds looking for dirt, and yet, not only have dirt of your own, but then freak out when some one does to you what you've done to your opponents. We as Republicans have an image problem right now and need to do everything we can to ensure that our candidates are above moral reproach. Otherwise, we'll never regain the integrity and trust of voters. I am so tired of politicians claiming moral superiority over their opponents only to see they have skeletons in their own closets (we saw this same thing with Mike Erickson trying to demean Kevin Mannix in Oregon only to find out he's a creep). You are hypocritically cutting down your opponents while having some explaining of your own to do does not fit with the integrity of the Republican Party. Why not run on the issues at hand instead of your opponents' supposed lack of moral credibility? With all due respect, put up or shut up Lindauer.
