A couple of weeks ago some Arab rights groups spokesman was whining about how Hollywood always showed Arabs as bad guys. Naturally nothing could be further from the truth. 24 was used as an example. The last time middle eastern folks showed up on 24 they ended up being falsely and unfairly suspected of being bad guys. The actual bad guys turned out to be Ruskies going for global dominance again.
Tonight's episode of NUMB3RS was just as silly. For those who killed their TV's, it is a series on CBS about 2 brothers. One is a right wing FBI guy, the other is a lefty genius math dude. The math brother uses high level math theories to help the slow witted FBI brother catch bad guys.
Tonight the FBI was chasing around a bunch of Pakistani Muslims. It looked like they were going to blow up schools. Darn, but it turned out to be a big misunderstanding. The dumb old FBI guys were just relying in their unfair anti-muslim prejudices. It turned out that the bad guy was actually an IRA terrorist. Oooooh, a christian extremist terrorist with a bag full of RPG's. What a brilliant and stunning plot twist. Boy, I never saw that one coming.
BTW, those damn things are heavy. That duffel he had them in was WAY too easy to carry around. But I digress.
I like some of the actors on the show, and some of the math stuff is fun and clever (if implausible). But the left wing message does get tiring. And to the bonehead who said that Hollyweird unfairly targets muslims - take your propaganda somewhere else boyo.
