Racism Extreme on MSNBC

Some poor reporterette on MSNBC started saying something really, really bad. Caught herself, and then stumbled away from her dangerous realization.

Here is the direction she was going.

Obama is winning states with very low black populations, particularly with lots of college kids and wealthy urban liberals.

Obama is winning states with really large black populations.

But the higher the percentage of blacks in the state, the lower percentage of white votes he wins.

Think about that for a second.

The more exposure that white people have to black people, the fewer white people want a black man as president.

I have no idea if that's true. I'm not really sure what it means. I could tell that she REALLY didn't want to say that. But that's the rabbit hole she fell down with her analysis. So either she believed something incredibly racist. Or there is a LOT more racism out there than most analysts have been willing to discuss.

Food for thought.

1. That was a good catch, Hairy.

Don't know how to comment, but yes, even in this white state, my black friends come across it a lot and these guys are all conservative types.

But, my exposure to other blacks is limited to my friends here. If the exposure of largely black communities is anything like those black churches, like Trinity, I can see the issue.

The half-black Obama leaves a lot to desire as a president. Certainly, there could have been better models to run on the national stage.

2. It really was pretty funny watching her choke and stumble over her own analysis. You could just see the teeny tiny little light bulb go on over her head. She had clearly just made a connection in her mind from the data she was reporting. I wondered where she was headed, and just about did a spit take when I figured it out. She clearly figured out what she was about to say at the same moment that I did, and just trailed off into a repeat of the first part of her sentence. Just the data, no analysis.
