By going to the website: http://taxfight.org/ one can download the petition and start gathering signatures. Remember this is a two (2) sided document and has to be printed with the two sides according to:
RCW 29A.72.100: "The person proposing the measure shall print blank petitions upon single sheets of paper of good writing quality (including but not limited to newsprint) not less than eleven inches in width and not less than fourteen inches in length." IT is set up for 11 X 17 inch paper.
It is important to begin right away. Polls show this will pass with more than 65% of the votes in November. People will be angry and upset very soon now as the Assessor's offices all over the state start sending out the 'horror' notices of next year's property taxes. Concentrate your attentions on senior citizens who are on fixed incomes and don't qualify to have their taxes suspended until the county takes over their properties with thousands of dollars of liens on them. Tell them that unless this upward tax hike is stopped they are in danger of losing their homes!
While you are at it, remind them to vote for Dino Rossi for Governor.
