The Seattle school district is enjoying a froth of media attention over Dr. Goodloe-Johnson's new plans (pdf) for improvement. Unfortunately, the plans offer plenty of goals, but are thin on concrete strategies to reach those goals.
This is a constant problem in Washington State public schools, where those in leadership envision fantastic outcomes, but seem consistently unable to meet them.
I've started a new blog, WashingtonEdblog.com, to cover education issues in Washington State. As a high school teacher with decidedly non-WEA ideas, I am trying to offer the unique perspective of an outsider on the inside.
