Word has (leaked?) emerged today that Michelle Obama has made it perfectly clear that Hillary is persona non grata, ad infinitum and never welcome anywhere near the Obama ticket. She is obviously more than just another "wife background fixture" in the Obama Campaign!
Hillary and Bill are telling EVERYONE behind the scenes that there is some awful secret that is about to emerge in the campaign about Obama that will make him UNELECTABLE and give the Oval Office to John McCain. Bob Novak, noted political commentator, openly challenged the HillBilly campaign to put up or shut up about this on Fox and Friends this AM.
John McCain's misstatements in his 'global warming' speech in Portland yesterday is getting some behind the scenes criticism. His 'Cascades snowpack is gone or melted' remark is laughable given that the levels on those mountains are the highest it has been in 25 years, plus the fact that they melt every spring anyway! "The campaign is doing a good job, but they need speech writers who have something other than oatmeal for brains!" says a retired former Reagan national campaign specialist who lives in Redmond, WA. Others are not so forgiving. Many politicos believe that McCain's campaign is slowly running out of gas and is faltering at a time when polls show him in a very good position versus a very weak Obama showing.
Christine Gregoire campaign has gotten the Washington State Democratic Party to force the unions to do a 'voter registration drive' to register at least 100,000 voters in Washington State before November. Unfortunately, fewer than 45 people showed up in Everett this last Saturday and word is that the union turnout for the first day of this statewide effort fell flat on its face! Not good news for the Obama campaign at a time when the McCain Campaign has Washington and Oregon on its 'prime time' list.
One of the problems that state Democrats have is the May 17 Congressional District Caucuses for the Democrats in Washington State: "At your CD Caucus, delegates and alternates to the Democratic National Convention will be elected. You do not need to be a delegate to the Congressional District Caucus to run for National Delegate, but only the delegates to the Congressional District Caucus will vote for the Delegates to National Convention" says the announcement. In other words: another divisive fight this weekend for Democrats between the HillBilly and Obama Campaigns. Gee, ain't politics a fun contact sport?
