I jumped up on the Weather Channel last night to see what was in store for Sunday and 'WAA LAA' there was a University of Washington "Crying poor mouth" ad. A big one right on the website asking for tons of money to help its students pay their tuition and other reasons!
Well, GEE WHIZ let me see if I understand this situation. The U Dub receives about 350 million dollars from the State Legislature per year, it owns about 40% of the real estate in the core of Downtown Seattle, it has an alumni fund raiser flying around the country in a private jet, it is one of the richest Universities in the US, AND IT WANTS MORE?
For me the straw that broke the 'back' of any creditability the U Dub has with me is their refusal to play football at Qwest field, tear down their monster piece of excrement stadium and provide growing space for more classrooms and parking with the freed up space.
The University of Washington is a big fat money eating bureaucracy that needs to get a dose of reality. WHERE IS ALL THAT MONEY GOING? AND why do they continue to jack up tuition year after year and then fall flat on its face in many areas? I like the one about the 'drug dispensing' coaches. Hmmm, what else is going on over there?
