The Truth from Ruth Gibbs Part 2

OK everyone, Doug Parris is blogging again on his Reagan Wing with more inaccuracies except for one, so I will respond here. Before I do, Doug, I would like to say that my sympathies are with your family at this time of grief for you when you just lost your mother. My father died at 75. He would be 85 this May 1st if he had lived. My mother died at 55. So, I feel your pain at losing parents and you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers that God will give you comfort in the fact that your Mom is with Jesus now.

Doug, you are correct. I made an error. It was after the Precinct Caucuses and before the February 19th Primary that I sent out an email encouraging people to vote for Huckabee. I am not sure why I put March 4th, I did not deliberately put the wrong date, it was a mistake, but you are correct there.

On everything elese you say, you are completely incorrect. I think part of your problem is that you meddled into stuff in our district knowing nothing about what went on, and partly you do not completely understand Roberts Rules of Order. You have a habit of assuming things without knowing all the facts, which is why you attack good conservatives and Christians regularly.

a) I was NOT the chair of the 11th District Caucus Doug, and you know that. I was the TEMPORARY CHAIR and as such opened the meeting. The difference (and perhaps you do not know this) is that there IS no voting body until the credentials are completed. At that time, the credentialed delegates vote rules and there is a Permanent Chair elected. THEN there are names placed into nomination for the State Convention. Even then, Nominations are not seconded and are NOT debatable motions. Our adopted rules provided that the Nominees themselves could speak. Nominations on the ballot are placed automatically in their entirety per our State Rules. Any other persons who wanted to go to the state convention who was NOT on the ballot either had to get up and nominate themselves, or someone had to nominate them.

That included some of the people on our leadership slate who did not get their names in to KCGOP in time, so were not on the printed ballot. Surprise, surprise!!! The KCGOP did NOT bend the rules for some of our leadership who did not get their submission in on time or who did not know if they could go until too late to get on the printed ballot. In our rules we provided that each candidate could speak for one minute.

During the time prior until credentials are finished (and it took about 1 hour), the Temporary Chair can do whatever to fill the time. As I said before, I never encouraged anyone to vote for anyone. I simply pointed out that there were two 'slates' (suggested names) for people to consider WHEN the names were eventually placed into nomination as well as others who were not on either slate, but that one clearly disclosed who put it out, the other did not. I said in our district we disclose. That slate was cleverly designed to deceive people, and you know it Doug, although I did not say that OR tell everyone they were all Ron Paul people.

You also know as well as I do that there were slots for only 15 Delegates and 15 Alternates, but that there were way more names of people who wanted to go, some of whom were nominated from the floor and were NOT on the printed ballot. Your slate recommended 15 people. The 11th Leadership slate recommended 15 Delegates and 15 Alternates.

b) The McCain campaign was NOT given the presidential preferences of those who signed in at the caucuses. NO campaign was given this information. That information was deleted to ALL the campaigns. And the Huckabee campaign DID ask for and get the same list. There WAS a speaker for Huckabee from our District. There WAS a speaker for McCain from our District.

In addition, we had told each campaign that the speaker for each of the candidates had to be someone FROM our 11th District. The McCain, Huckabee and Paul campaigns were informed directly of this by me personally a couple days BEFORE the 11th Caucus (yes Doug, I spoke directly with Maurine Moore and told her that. She asked if she could come and bring a staff person. I told her she was welcome.)

All three campaigns were also told to provide 3 signs each for the inside of the convention hall. The Paul people had the same number of signs inside the hall as the McCain and Huckabee people had and you KNOW it). The only person with LOTS of signs on the walls there was Dino Rossi. Each campaign also had the option of paying $5.00 for a booth in the outside hall. They could have one or not and have signs there or not as they chose.

In the case of the McCain and Huckabee campaigns, they complied with our request that the speaker be someone who was a delegate in our District. The
McCain campaign lobbyed to have someone on their campaign speak. We said no. In the case of the Paul campaign, they agreed also, then decided for whatever reason that they wanted someone else who was on staff in the Ron Paul campaign (better speaker?). During a break, he went forward and
requested of the Permanent Chair, who was unaware of our criteria, that he be allowed to speak instead of someone from our 11th who was for Ron Paul. The Permanent Chair agreed. When he started to speak, I was made aware
by someone that he was on the staff of the Paul campaign and not from our district. I did not get up and object, and no one else from our 11th did either. We decided rather than make a scene, we would let him go on. And on. And on.

Unfair advantage Doug? I guess the Paul campaign was given unfair
advantage there right? It did them no good. I hate to tell you this Doug, but you HAVE no story to break. There was no impact on what happened that day, other than the Ron Paul people, who got up one by one on the Iraq resolution and ranted and raved that we should get out of Iraq, which helped them to LOSE. Not my problem. They all got to give their speeches, just like everyone else. The rest of the people who showed up just did not like their positions or speeches or whatever I guess.

This has nothing to do with McCain. It has everything to do with people who only come to the Precinct caucuses and District conventions to further their Presidential candidate, but do not come to the King County Convention to debate the Platform and, when push comes to shove and they have to get involved and DO something, they disappear. This behavior messed us up last Saturday and we did not get to debate the platform. I think it is good and healthy to debate the paltform, but there was nothing that could be done about it. See my blog 1 on Warren Petersen's report on the convention here at Sound Politics.

There were people who attended our 11th District Caucus who come every 2 years. They never do a THING. They never get involved. They never help a candidate. They are NOT Ron Paul people. One of these people, who supported McCain by the way, also signed in at the Precinct Caucuses as McCain. As usual, he showed up at the 11th Caucus and wanted to go to the State Convention. His name submitted on time to be on the ballot, so I saw it ahead of time. He was NOT on our recommended 'slate' for the 11th District Leadership however, because he is a do nothing who just likes going to State Conventions.

In fact, I called him up and asked him what he intended to do to help the Repbulican Party now. He said he was too busy. Again! We have asked him over and over for years to help us, but he says he is too busy. He just likes to go to State conventions. Too bad. He has gotten away with that in the past, because we have had to stand up at our 11th Caucus and beg and plead to fill the Delegate and Alternate slots when the convention is in Eastern Washington. Not so this time There were too many who wanted to go, and he did not get elected even as an alternate. But his name was there, just like your Ron Paul people. In fact, remember, 4 of the Ron Paul people ended up getting elected as alternates number 12, 13, 14 and 15. The McCain do nothing did NOT get elected. Surprise, surprise!!! I told you that was a leadership slate.

Unfair to the do nothing guy Doug? Unfair to McCain? I don't think so. If he wanted to get elected and no one knows who he was because he never comes around or does anything, then he should have put out a flier, stickers, and campaigned. He did not. Not our problem. HIS problem.

c) By the way, I am really enjoying reading the responses to my expose. I find it nteresting the callibur of some of the people who are blogging in your defense on Sound Politics Doug. Some of those nasty blogs to me by people who say that they are for Ron Paul communicate their character it loud and clear. The one blog of particular interest to me is blog #54 on my The Truth from Ruth Gibbs. This is the one whose email address is f....yourself@f....offanddie.com. The person used the full word. I have chosen to truncate the word to f...... Sound Politics sent me his email address (or hers?) at 4/12/2008 7:13:58 PM. The comment is obviously directed against me. Is that email address itself a threat against me or what? Whoever you are, I don't scare easily; but I thought everyone including you, Doug, would like to know what kind of people are blogging here. As I said before Doug, you hang out with some real strange people.

1. On the Truth from Ruth Gibbs Part 1, I put my email address. I received some pretty nasty emails at that address by people who did not have the courage to post their nastiness to me here at Sound Politics. I have decided to give you that information. I have once again truncated part of a word, since it is against the Almighty. Here you go everyone:

I am dismayed by your comments about Ron Paul.

Specifically your comments about how my individual rights are NOT the MOST important thing in your mind.

"But when you start saying that the rights of the individual are the ONLY thing that is important, you have stepped over the line into anarchy"

and this little bit here..

"Ron Paul may holler 'Constitution' all he wants, but the founding fathers never intended this kind of idiocy. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution clearly lays out what the Federal Government can and cannot do. Protection of the citizens from danger is NOT the only function of the Federal Government. It is also the responsibility of the Federal Government to provide for the 'general welfare' of the citizens."

How dare you.

You might not know this but it is not government job to protect someone from every ill that may befall them. It is not government job to protect you from this and that, Government job, yes, your g... d... job is to protect the individual rights and liberty of it's citizens. Every other thing you do is extra. You sound like a Democrat trying to protect people from global warming. I want you to be VERY CLEAR here, you protect my rights first!

I will be voting for Dino Rossi, Toby Nixon, and yes even John McCain.. but I would never vote for you. You view of government control first, and liberty second, absolutely disgusts me.

Subj: apologize for your slander to the Ron Paul campaign and true conservatives

I have read your Sound Politics Public Blog. Your lies, distortions, and lack of understanding of Conservative, are insulting to me and every other Republican and conservative I know.

It would be too time consuming to go through line by line and debunk your slander, but here are a couple.

" d) The Doug Parris lie that all who endorsed the slate are true conservatives;
and information on the strange and subversive beliefs of SOME of these
individuals and groups including atheism, radical environmentalism,
population control, white supremacy, anarchism, sympathy with the
Confederate Army, secession from the United States, hatred for Israel,
legalization of heroin and other controlled substances, legalization of
prostitution and more."
Conservatives (and true Republicans) support limited government, freedom, and sound economic policy. Aspects of conservativism include separating Church from State ("atheism"), holding property abuses accountable ("radical environmentalism"), free choice for adults ("legalization of ... controlled substances... prostitution and more.").
Conservatives believe in the strict legality of the Constitution of the United States of America. This includes the legal ability to secede from the Union, and a recognition of the Confederate Army's right to have seceded.
Conservatives believe in peaceful trade with all nations, foreign entanglements with none. The US policy of pro-Israel, anti-Arab is disgraceful and hurts US image and economic development. A policy of non-intervention and freedom is the conservative path.

Ron Paul and his campaign are the only real choice for a conservative or true Republican. The overwhelming grassroots popular support for Ron Paul, evidenced across the country, even in spite of media censorship and slander campaigns like yours, illustrate the popularity and truth of Ron Paul's message of freedom.

KCGOP has consistently tried to push the Ron Paul campaign to the side. Volunteers at the Puyallup Fair GOP booth can attest to having Ron Paul pamphlets and materials thrown away, being harassed, and treated with disrespect, as well as the formal marginalization of the Ron Paul campaign through GOP blogs and publications.

Your "understanding" of Conservativism, Republican ideals, and your distortion of campaign issues point out a lack of intelligence of political thought.

As a true conservative, I and every Republican I know have sat back watching the party stagnate and get farther from the message. Many have thus identified as libertarian because of how our Republican party has been taken over by backhanded sell outs like John McCain. Ron Paul has motivated so many people in spite of your efforts and the efforts of established elites. Ron Paul offers the true conservative message, and you should make a public apology for your statements, if not resign from politics.

-Aaron Bartholomew.

2. Well, if nothing else, you've made your religious zealotry and desire to force it on us all very clear.

Even as a Christian, I want nothing to do with forcing my faith on anyone through law, and I'm pretty confident that Jesus wouldn't either.

Therefore, it's my duty as a Christian to make sure you aren't elected any way I possibly can - not only because I don't want your personal religious viewpoint forced down my throat, but also because I don't want you to turn people off to Christ by trying to force Him on them.
