Republican William Ruckelshaus Endorses Obama

William D. Ruckelshaus, a lifelong Republican who lives in my neck of the woods came out today to endorse Obama for president.

From CNN: "Senator Obama's ability to attract not only Democrats, but also Republicans and Independents, makes him uniquely qualified to build the broad coalitions needed to address our nation's challenges," said Ruckelshaus in a statement.

Wonder how the Republicans like them apples?

1. Ruckelshaus and his wife play both side of the fence regularly. A quick check of their FEC and Washington State PDC shows this without question.
Christine Gregoire, Ron Sims, Larry Phillips, Hans Dunshee, Norm Dicks, Joe Lieberman and even Obama. But what did you expect from people using thier corporate matches from their Venture capital firm, Costco and BFI.

2. Oh and the record shows that Ruckelshaus first donated a Grand to Obama on 12/31/2007. Big announcement 4 Months later, right?. If Obama tanks after the Keystone state, Bill and Jill will be stroking checks to Clinton. Why because he will be lobbying these folks for Federal Funds for the Puget Sound Recovery group he is heading.

3. Hey, maybe he is protecting his investments. If McCain is elected, everything is OK. But, if Obama is elected and starts nationalizing industry and doing global warming crackpot stuff, Ruck has an insurance policy.
Hey, it is always about the $$$$$$$'s.

William who? I'm sure democrats are even more thrilled about a sitting democrat US Senator and former democrat VP candidate(and what was WR elected to?) endorsing McCain.

7. I'd trade him for Joe Lieberman and a future draft choice.
