Does the name Carey Quan Gelernter ring a bell? Well, he is the nutcase, crackpot editor that was responsible for the most ridiculous piece of ignorant, yellow sheet sensationalism to come out of the brain dead Seattle Times. It came out this Sunday and is called: FOOTPRINT.
Issued as part of the Pacific Northwest (extra) magazine Sunday insert, it was full of the regular nauseating green crackpot babble; carbon footprint, save the planet, save Puget Sound, sustainability, global warming, climate change with an underlining insult to everyone's intelligence: the old 'carbon dioxide emissions' causes greenhouse gas effects for global warming. (No where in this piece of green excrement is any explanation of how 12 parts per million of man's contribution to the world's CO2 has any impact out of the less than 360 total parts per million on global warming or greenhouse effects in the atmosphere).
There is this absurd piece of nonsense about the death of Puget Sound written by William Dietrich which is nothing but a pack of lies founded on junk science and idiot hysteria.
Science is science folks and politics is politics. The sight of these extremist environ-nazi's using bogus science and outright lies to try and influence politics and policy will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the biggest frauds ever attempted on the American people. What's even more amazing is the low level of advertising in this insert. I suspect this waste of recycled paper and soybean oil based printing ink, didn't pay for itself.
Dear Robert,
Thank you for your feedback.
Newt is taking part in Al Gore's "We Can Solve It" ad campaign because
he believes that we need to work together to find solutions for
protecting and improving the environment. While Newt does not believe
that we have absolute proof of global warming or that humans are at the
center of it, he believes that a debate over the right environmental and
energy policy is vital for our future.
As outlined in his 2007 book, Contract with the Earth
, Newt
advocates "Green Conservatism," an innovative, market-based,
common-sense approach to protecting the environment by rewarding
conservation through incentives while fostering "green" economic growth.
Newt continues to believe that an entrepreneurial-led and market-based
incentive approach can best solve the challenges of protecting and
improving the environment while avoiding costly carbon taxes, cap and
trade, more government regulations, more control by bureaucracies and
more litigation.
Green Conservatism values clean air and water, land preservation,
prosperity, biodiversity, the reduction of carbon gasses in the
atmosphere, and solutions based upon science, innovation and technology.
Newt's argument remains that conservative principles can be the drivers
for effective and accountable conservation solutions.
