With the 2008 election season we once again find ourselves looking towards the future with great hope and a bit of excitement. We post our entries on this blog and others discussing ideas and thoughts we have to better our state and our nation. This is all great, but is it really doing enough to realize our goals and dreams? If Reagan had just posted his ideas on a blog do you think they would have become reality?
It is no secret that this election season, like others in the past, we will be out paced in fundraising by the Democrats, but that is no reason to throw in the towel. You may not be able to give thousands or even hundreds of dollars to campaigns, but we all have some spare time to give to campaigns that need our help. Even though I am in Iraq I have been doing some volunteering for some of the campaigns.
The time you spend stuffing envelopes, doorbelling, at phone centers or even writing letters to the editor may not seem like very much to you, but if every person who wanted to see our state make even a bit of progress back to the right chipped in some of their time it adds up quickly and makes a huge difference in the long run.
So I challenge all of you to do what you can to help out the candidate(s) of your choice in this election season. If you can donate money that is great, but your time is just as valuable.
