Yes, "my guy", Gov. Mike Huckabee dropped out of the race for the GOP presidential nomination last night after conceding defeat in all four contests of Super Tuesday II. Did I cry? Nah. I think I recovered fairly quickly after the initial hour after I got the news. I did get a little emotional though last night, at the thought of losing contact with all the friends I had made in this process through Huck's Army, but it looks like we'll all keep in touch. I got a lot of consolation pat-on-the-backs today from people at work, which I thought was kind of funny. I just responded with, "Well, it's more fun to make fun of a president who's on the other side, anyway..." Yes, of course I'm referring to our next president who will more likely than not have a (D) by his/her name. Yeah, pudge, I know you disagree on the outcome of the General, but hey...it won't be the end of the world.
Honestly, I'm kind of relieved, even though it has been kind of bittersweet. I have a lot of other things to focus on right now, like school and getting the application process going for a possible transfer to a four-year school in January, as well as a host of other personal things.
I'm going to continue blogging, as I have for the last, oh...three years now? If you thought that was going to end, HA!, you have another thing coming...

P.S. I'm sure some of you are wondering (or perhaps assuming) if I'm going to throw my support behind John McCain. My answer? I won't be actively campaigning for him, I probably won't have a bumper sticker, and I won't vigorously defend him on my blog. Right now I'm feeling kind of nonchalant. Will I vote for him in November? Eh, sure.Posted by Cydney at March 05, 2008 10:59 PM | Email This
