And shocker of all shockers, Ralph Nader (the Democrats' Ross Perot) is indeed running for President:
Nader announced his candidacy in the same way as he did four years ago, on NBC's "Meet the Press." He said that he was running to draw attention to issues ignored by the major candidates in both parties: corporate crime, worker rights, military spending and foreign policy.
Convential wisdom says he'll "take away" votes from the Democrats once again this year, but if the GOP doesn't pull through strong in the general election, Nader isn't going to be a problem for the Democrats--some disenfranchised tree-huggers will feel good about their vote, and Nader will have wasted money on his third pointless presidential run.
Ok, that's all. Go ahead and enjoy the sunshine while you can.
