I noticed a few of you have asked for some news from Iraq so here we go.
First of all, we here in Iraq are suffering from the same phenomenon that has been gripping much of the US as of late.......the lack of global warming......We have had below freezing temparatures as of late which makes the porta johns extremly cold in the mornings, especially right after the wash them and you have to break the ice away from around the toilet seat lid.
It has continued to be a fairly safe place where I am at and all in all we are seeing a massive reduction of violence in the counrty, although there has been a bit of an increase in the northern parts of Iraq (due to the surge working and pushing the terrorists out of their strongholds). We are also seeing that the Iraqi citizens are stepping up and reporting terrorists on a regular basis to the Iraqi military and the coalition forces. The Iraqi's are begging to be less fearful of reprisals from the terrorists and are quite frankly tired of the violence (the terroists are targeting civilians more and more and it is backfiring against them). Of course there is still violence and will be for some time to come, but the people of this country are starting to believe in their country and their future. It is an awesome sight to see.
We still have a long road ahead of us, but I believe that we will prevail in the end (to the regret of many an ultra-lib).
TIll next time,

If you need or want anything at all, just write.
The searing summer heat is far worse. At least with the ice it is an inconvience that you only have to deal with when nature calls, the heat of the summer is with you always (unless you are luckiy enough to be in an office with a really good A/C).
Posted by: TrueSoldier on December 24, 2007 12:57 AMAlso, nice catch on the lack of global warming theme. When enough people realize over the next five to ten years, that Gore's predictions are snake oil, we'll gain a lot of converts.
Thanks True.
