No surface street Petition

ATTENTION ALL WASHINGTON STATE TRUCKERS, AND TRAVELERS.
The State Of Washington has formed an advisory committee to determine the fate of the viaduct thru the City of Seattle. This advisory committee does not have near enough representation from the Trucking Industry, or citizens outside of King County. The decisions that this advisory committee will make does not affect just the people of Seattle and King County. This is an I-5 Corridor issue. If a surface street option is adopted, and the viaduct is torn down and replaced solely by a surface street, it will cripple Commercial and recreational travel all along the north south I-5 corridor. All of the traffic that is currently using Hwy 99 and the viaduct will be pushed onto I-5, which will create a disastrous affect on the ability of I-5 to serve the State of Washington as a north south corridor.
Seattle wants to use Hwy 99 as a "Grand boulevard" so it can use the traffic counts to generate higher property taxes, higher square footage rates, retail sales and sales taxes for Seattle. Our state has already spent nearly a billion dollars for a "Grand Boulevard" in Seattle from Sea/Tac Airport thru Rainer Valley to the University District, now they want even more State money for yet another "Grand Boulevard" for Seattle on Hwy 99, and they are willing to bring I-5 traffic to a halt to get it. Many members of the advisory committee have openly promoted this "Grand Boulevard" as a means of replacing the viaduct. Their efforts must be countered, or everyone from Blaine to Vancouver Washington will suffer from their greed for revenue. WSDOT needs to hear from everyone on this issue. Please take a moment and sign this petition so that other Washington State residents that depend on the I-5 Corridor can be heard loud and clear in Olympia, Thank You
Petitons will be located at every truck stop on the I-5 corridor until Oct 2008
