When enough is enough!

I felt almost giddy this morning as I reviewed last night's results. It's exceedingly clear that people are sick and tired of taxes. But, the funny thing is I still don't think those in government get it.

For example, a Sierra Club spokesperson was on KIRO 710 today, trying to convince listeners that Prop 1 went down because it didn't do enough to address global warming. Huh? I guess he wasn't talking to the same people I was today. It died because it was too big and failed to address roads.

Then you get this statement from Senate Transportation Chairwoman Mary Margaret Haugen regarding the Prop 1 demise: "There is no Plan B." Oh, really? No Plan B? No contingency plans whatsoever? This is exactly why we voted this down. If your lack of planning and risk assessment is any indication of how you would manage the Prop1 projects you should be able to quickly realize why we don't want to give you our money.

You know who else is giddy today? Dino Rossi, that's who. And why not? He knows the public wants fiscal responsibility. I think he's one giant step closer to Olympia... and that's just fine by me.
