Who are the "Top Staff Reporters" at Character Assassin Central? Nathan Johnson? Matthew Lundh?
On October 3rd, I was alerted to the existence of a character assassination website designed to ruin the reputation of Republican Jane Hague's opponent for the King County Council. I went there and was immediately confronted by a blatant lie in large red type, right under the fake newspaper title banner. Here is a snapshot of what I saw... [Click Here]

1. Read your comments at the reagan wing. You vehemently claim to be dye in the wool Republican, but you can't say that after looking at the D candidates for President and the R candidates, you would vote for the Republican.
In my mind, that hardly makes you a Republican.
2. Hey, that is only a $50/week ad. Did that go elsewhere than SP?
3. Swatter, re your posts, above:
1. The sentence "You vehemently claim to be dye in the wool Republican, but you can't say that after looking at the D candidates for President and the R candidates, you would vote for the Republican." is almost incoherent. I think you should write slower or something. I know you can express yourself. I've heard you do it. If what you're saying is that I can't find a Republican to support for President, you're just wrong, I would vote for a lot of them. I might even support you. What are your positions?
2. Yes, the KCGOP is doing major direct mail in King County with this garbage. I've been told it's in the tens of thousands of dollars, (although, I suppose, you have to put it in perspective. That is not as much money as the fines they've gotten for their hundred$ of violation$ of Public Disclosure laws).
4. Are you going to vote R in the next election for president or not? It is a clear choice.
As I said before, I don't think the Pope literature drop is appropriate.
5. Doug, you have been in the fringe of the Party for a number of years now and this takes the cake. You, who claim to be the 'true Republican voice' in King County are now supporting the Democrat in the race? I will grant that you hate Young for whatever reason, but to take this to support of a Democrat? We all know that Pope is one of your whacky buddies at the Wing along with Ruth Gibbs, Spackman, and others. If you had any appeal to the Committee as a whole, then you, Ruth, and the other crazies would have won at the re-org meeting. You were trounced because of your beliefs- plain and simple. Why don't you just admit that this only has to do with protecting another dangerous fringe individual and nothing else...
6. I don't think it's reasonable to expect that Doug Parris will ever stop with his antics because he's shown through his behavior that he really feeds off conflict. I'll never forget the first time I figured out who people were talking about when they discussed Doug (and we all know what they were saying -- he's NUTS). It was the 2004 KCGOP convention at SPU. I was using the men's restroom, which was way too crowded, when Doug barged in and, noticing all the stalls were full, proceeded to take off his shirt in front of everyone so he could put on this black wrestling t-shirt that said NWO, which stood for new world order or something. He was huffing and puffing, mumbling to himself if I recall, and obviously VERY WORKED UP. People just kind of... stared. The general reaction was just... wow.
Since then I learned so much more about Doug and friends, but everything I view through the prism of that awkward image of a man tearing his shirt off in a restroom, lost in a world I'll never understand.
7. Who is "AD"? Who is "Ben Franklin"? Who are the "Top Staff Reporters"? Being anonymous is almost essential if you intend to habitually spin lies in the political sphere and that's all they've got.
I stand for the Right to Life. Young fights it. I stand for the Natural Family and against Gay Rights. Young fought hard in the 2006 Committee to prevent any stand against gay rights. I oppose amnesty for illegals. Young has supported it for more than three years (while claiming "It's not amnesty!") I stand for fiscal conservatism. Young is a Dan Evans, tax and spend Mainstreamer. In 2004 I proposed the 2002 Platform (updated) as a basis for debate at at the King County Convention. Young and his cronies (including at least one major donor to a Democrat Presidential Campaign) repaced it with a single page (if legal sized) document eviserated of conservative principle, including watering down the GOP position on virtually everything and throwing out more than half, and did so by repeated rules violations, illegally disallowing valid motions. Yes, I was furious. That year The Youngsters used more massive rules violations to censor the Senate primary race using $5,000 fines of candidates for saying anything they didn't like (it led to massive defeats). My organization was the first and only institution in the WSRP to oppose the Censorship Agreement and it was abolished, (after 17 years) in 2005, but not before Young attacked Republican candidates with slander and censorship, even confiscating literature in violation of State Law. I proposed the strongest Property Rights plank in 10 conventions last year and it passed UNANIMOUSLY at the State Convention while Michael Young and his liberal associates stood in the hallway trying to shut down the convention by robbing it of a quorum. I've passed more platform language than Young has ever proposed. But... I'm on the fringe, right? because we're a pro-abortion, gay rights, tax and spend, pro-amnesty, anti-property rights, anti-Consitution political party, right? Young is the future. McCain is the future. Alex Hays is our hero.
Right?
8. Doug - people who are relevant generally don't have to remind people of the fact. Your whole tirade has two main points: "I am VERY important and Michael Young is SATAN." I think these two beliefs are also very closely linked in your brain. You use one to prop up the other and vice versa. Michael Young is a reasonable man. He is professional and has a genuinely caring attutude about him. He doesn't need to make awkward postings and put up websites everywhere to shout to the world how relevant he is. And he certainly doesn't hate you as much as you hate him. I bet if someone mentioned your name to him, he would chuckle and say "oh.. um, yeah, that guy."
9. “AD” (at 8), the charge had been made that I was on the fringe of the Party, by your compatriot in lies. His purpose was to dismiss my ideas without having to debate them. I fail to see how I could respond to such a charge without addressing whether or not my ideas are in the mainstream of grassroots Republican thought. Yet, despite the unreasonableness of the attack and the necessity of responding in the manner that I did, you did not rebuke “BF” for that attack, and when I responded in the only way possible, you act as if it was an act of self-promotion. You know it wasn’t. You’re just lying. The point is not that I am relevant, but that the conservatism that you, AD, and "Franklin" work to destroy is not only relevant; it is the very center of the Party. That you Youngsters have to constantly make up slanders about me, by itself, suggests that you, at least, think I am relevant, but my own position is not of consequence. I have taken a path that I knew would make me a target of powerful interests in the Party, and unscrupulous mudslingers like yourself. Someone had to do it and having been near the top of the Party, I knew what the consequences of speaking out would be. I resolved to ignore popularity and do what was right.
My post had three main points, not two: 1. I am a Conservative, as is the central theme of the Party, 2. Young (and you dufflepuds) are liberals and are, therefore, constantly put in need of 3. cheating to succeed in the Party. You cheat by breaking rules, by ballot fraud, by silencing, censoring and slandering your opponents because you can't win a fair and open debate.
With regard to Young, no conservative trusts him, but, of course, there's no way for
you to know that. I have never expressed any hatred for him at all. Your allegation of it, here, is another slander. You have no qualms about saying anything that you think will help your cause, you obviously don't care in the least if you are spouting lies. I didn't even say Young hates me, on any ongoing basis. I don't know. His behavior, if you could go on that, suggests he hates conservatives in general. But what I chronicled, and accurately, was his channeling of a spirit of excoriating vengeful hatred on the evening of March 15, 2006, utterly without any possibility of justification. I printed it as fair warning for those who come this way, as one might post a warning of quicksand on a public trail through the everglades. Let men of good will ignore it at their own peril. The majority of PCOs ignored my warnings at the reorganization meeting and have already paid a price in the form of 40 thousand dollars in fines. But that is just the beginning of sorrows, if Young sticks around.
By the way, naughty children throw rocks at cars from behind bushes and then run away. That is precisely your behavior, here. Will you reveal your identity and face the music or will you remain a coward like your potty-mouth comrade?
“AD”?
I’m waiting…
