Here come the Democrats diving into our wallets

Well here it is. The Democrats have planted the crisis of Global Warming, and now comes the pain. Democrats in Congress are floating mega-gas taxes, and serious hits to every American's standard of living to tackle this crisis generated by the sun. Hypocrites like Al Gore and his convenient Carbon offsets scheme were only the beginning. Read it from a Democrat's mouth.

Plan Uses Taxes to Fight Climate Change

With a 50 cent per gallon gas tax, and the phaseout of the home mortgage deduction for homes larger than 3,000 sq. ft., John Dingell (D) says, "it's only fair to tax those who buy large suburban houses and create urban sprawl."

Here come the Democrats and their Global Warming crusade to attack us like never before.

1. Large suburban houses??? What about those who own 3,000 sq. ft + homes in the city?? Are they exempt? This is beyond stupid. These people should focus on battling Islamofacism and instead they tilt at windmills. Spare us!

2. Liberty. Freedom. Choice. Per Democrats, if you choose not to live in an urban center, you are a bad person and should be taxed at a higher rate.

Prop 1 says the same thing. If you choose not to live near the choo-choo tracks, you should have to pay more in taxes, tolls, and fees in order to move "freely" about the area. Suburban people= BAD. Urban people=Best for the environment, economy, government, etc., etc. blah, blah, blah.

3. My home is just under 3,000 sqft, out in the "exurbs." But I work from home, and we homeschool! I reduce overall carbon in the community by not leaving my home!

Granted, I wouldn't be hit by this bill, but just a little more and I would have been. His logic is severely flawed.

4. Hey, I live in a home larger than 3,000 sq. ft., but my property is full of trees. I need a credit for the carbon my trees are drawing out of the atmosphere and converting to wood. I'm also on a septic system, so the majority of waste from my property doesn't require any sewage treatment or the energy that process requires. I'm also on a well that requires very little electrical power, and none of the massive plumbing, pumps and infrastructure to bring me water. My electric heat pump doesn't burn any fuels that emit carbon into the atmosphere either. In this state where half the electricity coming to my home is from hydro, I should get a credit for that. Maybe the size of a home is irrelevant compared to how that home is using energy and the demands on energy it has?

Setting a size limit is nothing more than class warfare being fought by the left against the middle and upper class. But then again the entire Global Warming religion is about that.
