Are you a Conservative?
by TracyOetting, 05:47 PM, 3 Comments
by ThoughtRogue There seems to be an awful lot of confusion, or propaganda, these days as to what a true Conservative actually believes. Hang tight - to answer this, we'll have to get into some ideology.. We're all "ideological" at our cores because it shapes us as individual human beings - it's how we tell right from wrong, it guides our thoughts and actions, and ultimately it informs our decision-making for which political policies we will support, and for whom... A Brief Fred Thompson Interview by a Blogger
by John425, 09:52 AM, 3 Comments
http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/ Fred Thompson Interview Transcript On Monday, I had the opportunity to interview Fred Thompson briefly between stops at the Minnesota State Fair. I aired the recording of the interview the same day on my CQ Radio show, along with a recording of the press conference that preceded it. For those who missed the show, I have the transcript of my one-on-one walking interview with the presidential aspirant, who discusses the tone he wants to set with his upcoming campaign.... Tolerant and Open Minded
by GirlofNight, 07:17 PM, 15 Comments
Okay, so this is going to be a total rant because I am seriously annoyed. Now I was just riding home on the bus, innocently minding my own business when this woman starts talking to her group of friends behind me, loudly I might add. No big deal, right? Wrong. Well first she starts in about how Seattle is awesome, then she somehow starts talking about liberals and how happy she is to be one. She goes on and on... [read more]

Wednesday, August 22, 2007 ..[ day seven ]..DOC in their zeal to protect the community are putting the community at risk by abusing the generosity of homeless shelters... Link to Blog Last night became my seventh night staying at the UGM homeless shelter, but only after extreme panic and much anxiety where I thought I had exhausted all my shelter options. After attending 5:30 mass at St. James, I rushed to the library to make some phone calls to the... [read more]
DANGER: Vote NO on all fire/medical levies (and others)! Tax Levies used to be temporary; now, they're PERMANENT!
by cryptometaphor, 06:56 AM, 0 Comments
And levies are on the PRIMARY ABSENTEE BALLOT! Parks! Woodland Park Zoo! No wonder Ron Sims wanted "vote-by-mail" ! Seattle Times: Warning: Tax hikes becoming permanent Senate Bill 5498 reversed the old "if-it's-not-marked-permanent-it's-temporary" rule. I wondered why the Woodinville and the Northshore Fire Districts were posting "Vote Yes To Continue Current Funding" signs all over the place. Now, we know! If we're tricked into voting "Yes," their needing to grovel to voters for trips to the public trough never has... [read more]

George Soros and other leftists work to keep a town poor
by mjcostello, 08:51 AM, 0 Comments
Make up your own mine An impoverished town in Transylvanian Romania named Rosia Montana strikes gold, but George Soros and foreign environmentalists (American whack-jobs including Vanessa Redgrave) say, leave it in the ground. At least while they're fighting to keep people impoverished overseas, maybe someone or some place here in the United States is being left alone to prosper. "Liberalism is a mental disorder." Duh!... Giving credit to a Democrat?
by John425, 09:24 AM, 4 Comments
From NationalReviewOnline-8/17/07 Credit Democrats Who Visit Iraq, They're Calling It As They See It Day by day, I am more surprised at the turn in the Iraq debate. I know this is going to sound like pie-in-the-sky optimism, but I wonder if by the time General Petraeus makes his report, there will be something of a consensus on Capitol Hill - "we know that the surge has improved security for the Iraqi people and beat the hell out of al-Qaeda... The Ghoul and The Fool
by John425, 08:19 AM, 1 Comments
From the Captainsquarters blog 8/16/07 The Ghoul And The Fool Patty Murray managed to sucker her fellow Democrats into looking like exploitative idiots two weeks ago, but not many media sources caught the Senator from Washington in her fib. Murray, who made headlines by pointing out Osama bin Laden's educational career after 9/11, used the St. Anthony Bridge collapse to rail against the Bush administration's supposed callousness towards our nation's infrastructure. The Hill and the Seattle Times noted the exchanges... [read more]

Gender Politics Do Not Help Children
by BananaLand, 12:01 AM, 1 Comments
Another glaring example of DSHS's horribly misguided approach to protecting children has woken me from my summer slumber. The Seattle Times describes how CPS repeatedly returned a young boy to the home of his step-grandmother and grandfather. He was relegated to living in a trailer behind the house. And CPS signed off on it. Twice! Worse, the boy was continually and severally beaten, choked, and burned by his step-grandmother. Detectives now believe the suspected abuse -- mostly by Loni Venegas... [read more]

Toby Nixon Endorses Mitt Romney for President
by Toby_Nixon, 09:56 AM, 4 Comments
For those of you who don't already know, I'm supporting Mitt Romney for President. I was on the host committee for his June 20 fundraiser in Bellevue, and am stepping up my involvement to include helping Jennifer Dunn and others on Mitt's campaign team in Washington to organize grassroots efforts statewide to get Mitt's supporters to the caucuses on February 9 and to vote in the primary on February 19. Why do I support Mitt? Without question, among all of... [read more]
When is a Republican not a Republican?
by Stewart_Street, 12:58 AM, 0 Comments
Could it be when he sells his soul to the Democrats? On Thursday the 9th the Herald published this letter from Snohomish County developer and political player Hank Robinett. I was curious to know why Mr. Robinett decided to slander Representative Sullivan so, when most people know that Brian Sullivan is one of the most knowledgeable people around on the issue of Paine Field. So, following Rush Limbaugh's advice to "follow the money trail" I went to the Public Disclosure... [read more]

Nicole Brodeur needs to read the Bill or Rights a little closer
by WarmFuzzyPuppies, 09:21 AM, 4 Comments
Nicole Brodeur has a column in today's Times entitled "Mistake or not, it's censorship." It deals with AT&T's mistaken "bleeping" of a portion of a Pearl Jam performance earlier this week in which he sang "George Bush, leave this world alone." "George Bush, find yourself another home." So yes, I agree, this is corporate censorship (apparently a mistake of overzealous screeners) and something that AT&T should apologize for. Whether we agree with Eddie Vedder or not he still has the... [read more]

Lovick represents Big Gub'ment Job Security!
by TracyOetting, 07:43 PM, 2 Comments
I decided to look into the Snohomish County Sheriff's race on a request from a voter who emailed me. The two candidates are John Lovick and Tom Greene. I was told that Mr. Lovick was tough on crime and that's why he would make a good County Sheriff. Pakistan
by BerenForCongress, 03:07 PM, 0 Comments
It remains to be seen whether Senator Obama backs off from, or revises, or "clarifies" the comments he made this morning regarding Pakistan. But, for the time being, it reminds me of Senator Kerry's nomination acceptance speech at the 2004 Democratic national convention. Kerry stressed his military experience, claimed a pro-military and pro-war stance, and tried to put forward a stance of being tougher on terrorism than the President, with the goal of "killing" the terrorists, etc. That false pro-war... Among other donors, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth leader John O'Neill gave $2300. Citizens United head David Bossie gave $2300, and the Citizens United Political Victory Fund gave $5000. Douglas Feith gave $2300.... [read more]
