Murray Bumbles on Senate Floor

http://www.redstate.com/stories/congress/patty_murray_fibber

The RS Insider hears Senator Patty Murray (D-WAaah) did a little fibbing on the floor yesterday. From yesterday's Congressional Record [S.2650]

"We are out here debating the 9/11 Commission. They released their findings years ago. Few of them have been implemented. It has taken a shift in power from Republicans to Democrats to finally implement the 9/11 Commission recommendations."

The RS Insider seems to recall otherwise -- Republicans have "acted on 37 of the commission's 39 recommendations". It's a bit surprising that Senator Murray doesn't know this, since her own website touts the Collins-Lieberman legislation, which implemented "the key recommendations of the 9/11 Commission". That bill passed in 2004, with Senator Murray voting "yes".

1. Murray, is too F'in stupid to know what she voted for yesterday let alone in '04. She only knows what is on the sheet of paper her handlers have given her. The D's keep running her because she is a solid party line vote and WA voters are dumber than she is and keep electing the box-o-rocks.

2. This is really too bad. Murray has actually been useful on a few issues (I admit that begrudgingly). But when it comes to Homeland Security, and for that matter, anything to do with combatting terrorism, she hasn't a clue.

Unlike Cantwell who has completely vanished off the radar since her re-election, at least Murray is in the public eye. It's just too bad she can't get her facts straight. You'd think after assuming a leadership position in the Senate, she'd have more staffers to check these sorts of things...
