Move al-Quaida Terrorists to W. Washington?
by BobLeibowitz, 06:24 PM, 6 Comments
Are You Nuts? You Want to Put Who in My Backyard? Democrats, liberals and completely spineless types on the national scene have been bad-mouthing Guantanamo Bay as a permanent location for holding the worst of the worst al-Quaida leaders collected during the first four of our 100-year war. These progressive leaders put a great deal of weight on favorable opinions of similar sorts from other countries, obsessing about "respect" from the likes of the French, the Germans and other superior... Democrats lack victory strategy in war on terrorism
by BerenForCongress, 01:35 PM, 2 Comments
The Democrats lack a victory strategy for the war against terrorism. They don't realize what victory means: stabilizing the governments of Iraq and Afghanistan as part of encouraging and assisting a transformation of the Middle East; disruption and destruction of terrorist networks; ending the war drive of the Iranian mullahs (with their threats against Israel); and ending the nuclear weapons programs of North Korea and Iran. The Democrats also don't realize what defeat would mean: a bloodbath in Iraq (as... [read more]
Democrats pass pork laden Iraqi pullout bill
by TrueSoldier, 11:54 AM, 4 Comments
The democrats in the house have passed the pork laden bill that sets a timetable for troop withdrawal from Iraq. This bill was supposed to have been a troop funding bill, but it includes the following pork: $500 million for emergency wildfires suppression; the Forest Service currently has $831 million for this purpose; $400 million for rural schools; $283 million for the Milk Income Loss Contract program; $120 million to compensate for the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the shrimp... A few suggested topics...(please feel free to refine or add planks) (1) Make it mandatory that WA employers use the online Social Security Number Verification System for ALL new hires AND that they keep a downloaded confirmation for 2-3 years. Penalties TBA (to be announced-ideas?) (2) Redefine and simplify the College Tuition Tax Credits AND turn them into Deductions for the middle class. (3) Make Charitable deductions equal to 120% of the actual donation if the donation is directed to... [read more]

"The Great Global Warming Swindle"--(what they're NOT telling you about global warming)
by MicheleDeRouis, 11:27 PM, 2 Comments
I've just finished watching the movie, The Great Global Warming Swindle. It's the UK documentary that dares to debunk the lies surrounding the "religion of global warming" (which I think it needs to be labelled). Frankly, it's looking to me like a big "manufactured crisis" and not much more. (Important: For some reason, my link to the movie online was not working, so please just paste http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,258993,00.html into your address space and when you get to the Fox webpage that... by airfoil55, 04:22 PM, 13 Comments
According to the latest numbers, the silly, non-binding "advisory" ballot on replacement of the Alaskan Way Viaduct has the tunnel measure with a 70% no vote and the rebuild measure with a more modest 55% no vote. Gov. Christine Gregoire, Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels and King County Executive Ron Sims held a joint new conference today at which the Governor announced the state will begin $915 million of work this summer to shore up the existing Alaskan Way Viaduct -... State DOC resumes early felon releases with the Queens blessing
by TrueSoldier, 09:27 AM, 3 Comments
The Seattle Times is reporting that Queen Christine has decided that she is OK with releasing felons early. In an internal memo e-mailed agencywide Friday, DOC Deputy Secretary Mary Leftridge Byrd said conditional releases are acceptable as long as they're not being done to avoid jail overcrowding. Gregoire said Tuesday she agrees with the policy. So does this mean that Queen Christine thinks that the policy is ok even when just last year we had tthree police officers killed by... [read more]

Democrat's Cozy Relationships Largely Go Unnoticed
by patrickb1, 07:11 PM, 1 Comments
Cross posted at: RespectfullyRepublican.com Seattle--On the main page, Stefan has an ongoing series called, "Sewer of Corruption." The series examines cases of questionable activity by players in the local and state political machine. Some cases may actually meet the definition of corruption; others merely have the appearance of it. A great new book highlights the "caucus of corruption" at the national level -- but here in Washington state, we only seem to get brief (though poignant) whiffs of questionable dealings... The Three Democrats that voted for HB2377 before they voted against it
by TrueSoldier, 08:07 AM, 1 Comments
It turns out that the three Democrats that voted for bill HB 2377 have had a John Kerry moment. Deborah Eddy (48th district), Deb Wallace (17th district) and Kathy Haigh (35th district) all entered vote correction form yesterday stating that they actually meant to vote "nay" on this bill. This means that ALL the Democrats voted against a bill that would have stopped felons from being released early and would have returned felons to prison who violated their early release.... by John425, 03:19 PM, 2 Comments
http://www.redstate.com/stories/congress/patty_murray_fibber The RS Insider hears Senator Patty Murray (D-WAaah) did a little fibbing on the floor yesterday. From yesterday's Congressional Record [S.2650] "We are out here debating the 9/11 Commission. They released their findings years ago. Few of them have been implemented. It has taken a shift in power from Republicans to Democrats to finally implement the 9/11 Commission recommendations." Gregoire Under Fire

Cross-posted at RespectfullyRepublican.com Olympia -- Governor Christine Gregoire is coming under fire on at least three issues that are endangering her ability to govern effectively. At the top of the news cycle for a number of months was the Viaduct in-decision. Without sounding like Democrats (#4)

Also submitted for your consideration, from http://www.newt.org/backpage.asp?art=2649 Newt Gingrich on Energy A sound American energy policy would focus on four areas: basic research to create a new energy system that has few environmental side effects, incentives for conservation, more renewable resources, and environmentally sound development of fossil fuels. To its credit, the Bush administration has approached energy environmentalism the right way, including using public-private partnerships that balance economic costs and environmental gain. Republican's trying to stop further release of felons
by TrueSoldier, 02:05 PM, 0 Comments
Kirk Pearson's freeze on early release bill may have gotten renewed life after the recent release of 83 felons, including a level three sex offender, from King County last week. This bill was never given a committee hearing even though the Democrats could find plenty of time for committee hearings on such bills as dogs being allowed in bars and outlawing huckleberry picking (you know things that are really important to the voters).
