Lately the Democrats have been bringing up the fact that more moral waivers have been allowed in recent years to get more recruits. This is true, but the moral waiver has been around for decades. I had jr. enlisted soldiers, that I trained and lead, that received moral waivers and I can tell you that they were just as good as soldiers without the moral waiver. In some cases they were even better, because they understood that there are consequences for their actions and this was a chance to get their life back on track.
The Democrats brought this up in January during and armed services sub-committee meeting and again this week during the debate over the waste of time, I mean non-binding resolution.
My question to these members of Congress is how many of them would still be serving if they were held to the same standards that our brave men and women are held to everyday and to even enter the service. My guess would be less than half. Under the UCMJ quite a few of the actions of Congressmen would have been punished. From drunk driving to writing a bad check to writing explicit text messages to pages to leaving the scene of an accident in Chappaquiddick, if these had been service members they would have been charged and either lost rank and money or done some hard time and been dishonorably discharged.
I think Congress should first live up to the same standards set forth for our members of the Armed Forces before the start criticizing the lowering of standards.

No private schools for their kids.
Etc.. et. al.
They have created a special privileged class, the congress critter. The American Revolution was fought to overthrow the monarchy.
We have a new monarchy in DC. We need to overthrow the new kings.
