Orwell's Dark Vision Looms

There's only one thing more disturbing than the roughly one-half of the American population afflicted by Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) - the other half which seems robotically blinded by the propaganda of Neo-conservatism (which isn't Conservatism at all).

Can anyone explain how our Public Square and our nation's airports having been transformed into gleaming new monuments to coercion, kindly administered by the government's new Ministry of Safety (TSA), is not completely Orwellian?

Let's get this straight - each time a terrorist plot by Young, Islamic, Males is detected or thwarted, the proper response for Big Brother is to inexorably ratchet up the unlimited searches and property seizures against law-abiding American Citizens who innocently enter our nation's airports? How much sense does a "random" search make? None. When you are looking for your misplaced car-keys, do you search randomly? Or do you systematically profile the places where your keys are most likely to be found?

For the love of God, HOW does the confiscation of all emery boards, water bottles, shampoo, and darning needles from millions of innocent people daily ensure our safety?! If our Ministry of Safety gets wind of a plot where Islamic young males plan to wear incendiary clothing aboard an aircraft in hopes of uncontrolled self-immolations, won't the logical step, based on their past reactions, be to require American Citizens to strip clean of all clothing before boarding?

Seriously, wouldn't it make us all a whole lot "safer", without singling anyone out for the cruelty of special scrutiny (profiling), for everyone to be issued special hospital-type gowns to mandatorily wear on all flights? Think of the pluses - who wants to endure the constrictions of regular garb when they can fly unfettered complimentary of TSA's embroidered, extra-comfy government-approved flight gowns - and where that conveniently breezy back-side makes bending over for further random shake-downs of the innocent oh, so much easier for everyone. Thanks Ministry of Safety - and I get to keep my gown, too!!

Just try challenging your fellow citizens to justify the rank TSA "security" insanity and you'll witness one of three inevitable responses:

1) Unintelligible drivel peppered with "Must Hate Bush... Must Hate Bush..." (BDS ROM-chip has been permanently implanted)
2) Blank, vacant stares indicating your vital inquiry does not even compute. (Normal Reasoning-chip has been unwittingly shut down via relentless propaganda: "war-on-terror", "stay the course", "compassion", "vigilantes"..)
3) Robotic drone in response, "Well, I'm easily willing to give up ever more of my (and your) freedoms if it makes us all "safer"... [ad nauseam]" (Orwellian Safety-chip has been successfully implanted!)

Will this "security" insanity come to an end, or will we continue our forced march toward Big Brother's utopian state while leaving our national borders completely unsecured?
