Sadly things did not go well

So now we have a shift in power on our hands.

Now we will be treated to glowing reports on the economy and how well it's doing.

I have to wonder what to do now. I don't want to complain about dems for the sake of complaining, I do want to continue to point out how their ideology is not the right direction for this country. I am going to make an effort to do it constructively.

I have been thinking about what the election means to me as a conservative. Only one theme has come to mind, and that is increasing pressure on our elected leaders through things like writing letters. Maybe more will come to mind, but that will take a few days perhaps.

I congratulate the democrats on their win, they did well, and deserved their win.

I still believe that the conservative view point is the way that will benefit all members of our society that will promote us as a people and the correct way to move forward. I have no reason to change my mind about that and this election does not offer any reason to think I am incorrect about this world view.

I believe the election was a clear message that people don't believe G.W. Bush is doing a good job in Iraq. I agree with that view, I don't agree with the solution, offered by cowards like Jack Murtha.

I believe there has been a complete failure of the Republican Congress. There has been an utter lack of leadership from Bush and from members like Hastert, Boener, Frist, McConnell, and Blunt. The biggest problem was these and a majority of the other Republicans failing to act like conservatives. They chose to cow to democrats constantly in the last congress, failed to spend like conservatives, and failed to show any measure leadership what so ever. They failed, and I voted for them sort of. I live in Washington so we don't really have any conservative members of congress, but there is not much to say that any Republicans would have done any better. Make me feel sick I can tell you that much!

Conservatives need to look at what they have been doing see why they allowed to get themselves so far off track. Spending, failing to stand strong on issues like tax cuts, conservative judges, a secure border, English as our national language, protecting marriage, reducing abortion, protection of the elderly, punishment of child abusers, sending illegal immigrants to their country of origin rather than keeping them in prisons(for those who are in prison now) destruction of the insurgency and terrorists in Iraq, and Afghanistan, opening petroleum resources in our country, improving the efficiency of government, security of our ports, school choice, and and and and .....

There is a lot of things to do to get back on track. I am sad, frustrated, and not alone. It's time to take a deep breath and start sorting problems out. Do you agree?

C.
