1. I guess the "Establishment" candidates are Michael Young and Lori Sotelo as that seems to be who all the elected politicians want.

But do we want a change or don't we? Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again but each time expecting a different result.

I loved this part of the elected Republicans' letter.

"The top goals of the Party leadership are fundraising, advancing the message, and building a strong party organization. Michael and Lori have achieved these goals."

Well if they had achieved these goals then what was 2006 all about? Talk about DENIAL. Are the party elite in self delusion or what?

And, any way I want leaders who will represent the ideals of the Republican grassroots, and not the narrow concerns of politicians.

Remember, the party elite, not the grassroots, gave us McGavick. And you saw how far that got us.

2. Politicians often feel pressured to support incumbants regardless of how bad the incumbant might have been or what the incumbant is all about.

That is why endorsements by fellow politicians should in most cases be ignored.

3. "The top goals of the Party leadership are fundraising, advancing the message, and building a strong party organization. Michael and Lori have achieved these goals."

Wait a minute. In 2004, we heard from the incumbents that the goal of the Republican Party Leadership is: "To elect Republicans" Now that they didn't, the goals are different. As children, most of us learned that you don't change the rules in the middle of the game!

But examining the merits of the current stated goals listed: "Fundraising"? Their troubles with the PDC reports, and scheduling an audit AFTER this election certainly puts that "achievement" into question. "Advancing 'the message'"? Uh. What message was that? The one that had candidates conflicted with the platform and the sentiments of the Republican base? And "building a strong party organization"? Are there more elected PCO's now than there were in 2004, or 2000? What is stronger about the party organization? Money? If so, where did it come from, Jennifer Dunn and friends?

4. It looks like another *Bundy Republican has brought shame to all Republicans.

Larry Corrigan, a well-known activist in local Republican politics as a backer of U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert and King County Prosecuting Attorney Norm Maleng, was arrested Wednesday in an Internet sting for allegedly trying to arrange sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Corrigan was the director of financial operations at the prosecutor's office for more than 25 years and was deputy treasurer in Reichert's 1997 and 2001 runs for King County sheriff. He was also a supporter without an official role in Reichert's congressional campaigns.

Is this really "mainstream" behavior. It is certainly liberal behavior but most people in America aren't liberals or sick perverts for that matter.

The so called mainstream republicans lack character. Sure they aren't all pedophiles like Foley and Corrigan but since they don't care about morality they are unable to recognize evil when it is staring them in the face.

Norm Maleng knew this guy for 25 years. You would think that in all that time he would have sensed that something was wrong with him.

But like Dan Evans and his crew, since liberals see things in 'relative' terms, they don't develop the ability to sense people out, and evil people are attracted to them.

*When I refer to Bundy Republicans I am really referring to those who call themselves "mainstream" Republicans or in this state known as the Evanites in reference to Dan Evans, an extreme leftist politician in this state who nonetheless was a Republican. Serial Killer Ted Bundy worked for Dan Evans on his Governor's campaign and made quite a positive impression on Evans and his ally Ralph Munro. They even got Bundy on a Seattle anti-crime commission (no joke). It kind of makes you wonder who Sam Reed has on staff doesn't it.

7. When you lack a moral compass like these so called "mainstreamers" (since when is a country club mainstream instead of elite) you attract evil.

Why wasn't the radar of the great detective Reichert up? Well, what do you expect from a detective for whom it took a generation to catch one guy. Kind of reminds me of in the Showtime show Dexter about a serial killer who works undectected with the police there is one detective who thinks there might be something wrong about him, but Dexter is surprised that in a office full of detectives there is just one detective who is mistrustful of him.

But again, with the Mainstreamers it is a lack of a moral compass that attracts evil to them and deprives them of the ability to detect evil when it is staring them in the face. It happened with Bundy, and now it happened with Corrigan.

8. By the way, one thing that the news article failed to mention is that Larry Corrigan actually Worked for King County Government as an Assistant to Maleng. And he has given money to Jim Compton's city council campaign among many others.
