It seems it is time for an education in the facts of what Darcy Burner claims is "community involvement" and "leadership".
As a resident of Ames Lake, and someone who has dealt with this woman, I have a perspective and insight that not many other posters to this blog have.
I have had all my posts on Sound Politics spun by her handlers, or blind wackjob followers, and am sick of it.
Therefore, I want to lay out the facts of Darcy Burner's community involvement, which is basically what she is now running on.
She has nothing else.
It is all she has to run on, now that the truth has been flushed out about her 3 "successful" years at Microsoft, her lack of voting record, law school drop-out, etc. etc.
It seems as if the only true qualification she states in her bio is being a mother, albeit for only three and a half years.
I wonder if anyone will have the acumen to ask her about the following at the debate on Tuesday.
Here are the facts:
1. Darcy Burner is NOT the president of the Ames Lake Community Club.
2. She served as voluntary president from April 17, 2005 until April 23, 2006.
3. She filed to run for Congress on June 15, 2005.
Let me emphasize the word volunteer - This is not an elected position, and quite frankly, it is a position that has been occupied by one individual almost exclusively since 2000. The reason being, nobody in the community cares about being on the board of this pointless organization except this one guy, and some of his pals - Darcy included.
The "club" exists to collect voluntary dues of $30 per year from any plat residents who want a key to be able to access the lake, as our lake access is fenced off to prohibit outsiders from using the lake. The "club" distributes the keys to these paying people, and also rents a Porta-Potti for the beach during the summer.
This is all the board members of this "club" are charged with.
4. Darcy moved here in the summer of 2002
5. She didn't volunteer to pay her dues to the club until 2004. She lives on the lake, and doesn't need a key to access the water.
6. Darcy only agreed to volunteer to be president in 2005, if the guy who has been "the board" since 2000, agreed to serve on the board with her that year as well.
7. This guy has been photographed carrying a banner for Darcy in the parade of Redmond Derby Days.
8. She was forced to preside over one meeting during her tenure as president to address an ongoing problem in the community which previous boards ( read - this one guy ) had totally screwed-up.
9. She used the meeting to have pictures taken for her campaigning purposes.
10. She yelled down her neighbors who disagreed with her, and was condescending and rude to people who sought a solution, which she did not like.
11. She also NEVER lived up to her promise to the community to pursue a solution to the matter.
12. And after the meeting, she misled via e-mail, the majority of the community about what had transpired at the meeting, as only 54 people from the 390 households bothered showing up at this meeting.
13. If Darcy Burner wanted to be involved, and be a leader of substance at Ames Lake, maybe she should actually "run" for a board position on one of the two community organizations that actually have some responsibility to do something - Tanner Electric Co-op, or the Ames Lake Water Association.
As a resident of Ames Lake, I know she was not , and currently is not involved in this community, and is not "a leader" of any sort.
By the way, am I the only one that noticed that her husband ran unopposed for Democrat PCO?
I'm wondering, who's raising their three and a half old child?
You know, the one she claims won't have a life if she doesn't get elected to Congress.

Still, you see Reichert running for Sheriff Supreme, not for Congressman, while Burner is hammering in the "new direction" thing. I'm not sure he can pull it off unless he gets off the taxes mantra, particularly since he hasn't delivered in that arena.
